Re: Paris Opera House rule - no dress code!

I've visited the Opera Garnier a few nights back, and I must say that in fairness to tourists and visitors, wearing jeans and casual dress is
not exactly the most appropriate attire. I've nothing against our foreign friends, but I'm just thinking out loud.

Excuse me?! I'd say that was kind of a low-blow. Who said that tourists and foreigners have to dress properly if they want to watch the opera?
I don't mind at all, besides they're foreigners and tourists, and it's as if they will be around to stay for long.

Leparisien has a point - an opera house is a very elegant place, and its visitors must show elegance in their dress.

I know THAT...but as I said, it's not as if they originally wanted to watch!

Re: Paris Opera House rule - no dress code!

I can't blame the tourists and foreigners, and it's not like they intended to watch an opera. It's only coincidental that they were in their
casual attire while they were touring the place, and somehow watching an opera was added to their itinerary.

Agree with vladimir_pushkin...cut the tourists some slack, not their fault -_-

Ok, I think that leparisien's making a valid point here. Don't have to gang him up. Sheesh.
