Re: Army guy doesn't want to tip

So get this. Waitress comes into the kitchen complaining about this tool who told her "I hope you're not that I'm not tipping. I'm serving your country, after all."
Seriously, is this a legit reason not to tip? The whole bar and kitchen staff thought not. We don't pay bills with patriotism.

Former Army soldier here.
No, that is complete bullshit. No one forced us to serve for you. He did, however, go into your place of business and expect to be served.
That's just a cheap asshole right there.

I don't think someone so willing to sacrifice as to earn a Medal of Honor would even think about using it to get out of doing/paying things.

I agree whole heartedly. Besides, it would be a moot point.
Any MoH recipient in my immediate vicinity is eating and drinking on me, pretty much for the rest of their lives. ;)

Re: Army guy doesn't want to tip

Only time I've ever seen my husband pull the military card was when his flight was cancelled and they refused to even try putting him on a new flight until the next day.
"I'm going home for the first time since I returned from Iraq. My brother, also a Marine, will be flying in tonight, his first time home since he went to Afghanistan. Our entire family is waiting there for me. Is there ANYTHING you can do?"
