Re: Band performance soon in three weeks.

A friend who is part of a band will be performing at a local bar. He is actually a new member of the band, but he is very good
with percussions, having been a drummer for about six years as well as having played Percussion Freaks. He told me that he feels
nervous, but I told him not to worry. Still, I can't help but feel a bit concerned that he may screw up the band. As of late he
is isolating himself and refuses to see me, his best friend. Need your advice since I'm not very good with helping people...yet.

Encourage him not to be afraid and let him perform. Better yet, why not perform together while in practice?

It would be nice if you can have fun and let him take some time off practice by going out. Playing Percussion freaks together will
boost his morale and self-confidence.

Eddy, as his close friend you really want to help him, but I think that if he prefers to be alone, it's better if you just let him
be. I think he only wants some time for himself but it's not because he hates you or something like that. I think that if he performs
well that is the best thing he wants not only for himself but for you too.

I'm with weetomon this one - give him some breathing room so he can focus on his performance. Only celebrate once it is done.
