Seriously. I know why they exist but they're basically a form of discrimination to lower income clubbers. I'm surprised they're not illegal.

Not really. Where do we draw the line for a cover charge? It costs money to get into a movie theater. Is it discrimination to deny someone not wanting to pay? Logic here.

You're paying to see that movie. What exactly are you paying for for the cover charge? You're still paying for drinks, food, and the tip at the end. It buys you nothing that isn't almost always complimentary.

Both good arguments. The cover charge is still kind of discriminatory. Because yes, the clubs know they can get, and it helps to weed out people not wanting to drop some money for the night. It's all about the money guys.
