Thanks for this. I was going to ask OP about the money thing because I've been told by bartenders that the best thing you can do is have your money out and visible to the bartender and also know what you want to order before making eye contact etc.

Never really realized this until reading your post. Bartenders must love my dad.
He plays music at a lot of bars, so obviously he's talked to a lot of them and knows what bartenders like.
It's something that shoulda been obvious to me, but I guess I just never thought of it. He always does this.
He holds his money in clear view and waits, then orders exactly what he wants, no bullshit, and tips.
I'll have to keep this in mind for whenever I go to a bar.
