Re: Cell phone use banned?

Ok, I am at the Y today, and all around me are signs banning cell phone use.
I understand noise pollution, but my my other senses have all been assailed in much greater degree,
(ie. body odor, 80 year old sacks etc) and i have seen many things in the locker room I can never unsee, that were much more offensive then a cell phone.
I have seen these signs at the post office, retail stores etc. I can understand a movie theatre, opera or restaurant, but a retail store? YMCA? Opinions?

Re: Cell phone use banned?

When I used to cashier at Linens N Things (these were my HS days mind you),
it would personally annoy the hell out of me when someone was on the phone when I tried to check them out.
It is tough to ask someone how their experience was in your store when they are talking to their friend about their babies diaper rash.

I also remember a woman talking on the phone at the top of her voice, laughing.
Everyone was put off until her phone rang and we realized she was having a fake conversation! She ran out of the store, we all laughed!

Do toilet stalls count as public or private? How do loud bowel explosions count? Apparently, it's all accepted now.

Re: Cell phone use banned?

People still make/receive calls? I haven't talked on the phone in years, and I can't think of anyone else who does either. Text rules.
