This bar has been in existence since the East German days. Interesting to know is that this is where some East German
students would talk about transferring to West German schools in secret, later on they would be moving to the West.
Now its past is well behind it as the bar is now frequented by adult patrons.

At the time of the GDR, close to 60% of the income earned from that bar came from students and dissident professors, the
rest from non-students. Today the trend has reversed, as it is now populated by teenagers and young adult professionals,
but students still come in from time to time.

It's similar to Club Kalinka as they carry with them memories of the Soviet era - everything which reminds us of Soviet rule
at that time live on in the place.

Is Club Kalinka any different from the Kaffee Burger?

Not so much. Well, except for the Soviet relics of Kalinka, most of which you wouldn't find at Kaffee Burger.

Today the extremely delicate relics are now being safekept just like in a museum, while the other Soviet memorabilia are on
display.
