Does anyone else notice this? It's not like we have a Little Italy either/ I just think Vincent's is really taste, with very nice staff and a nice bar that stays open late. It's my favorite Italian here.
This is true. Lots of Sicilians settled here (my background). You know the French Quarter once was known as our Little Italy. It's interesting to see the influences on local cuisine. A lot of the Italian restaurants here derive an influence from Creole. Some of the best places you should check out are places like Adolfos. My favorite (albeit very expensive) is Italian Barrel. Anyone else want to add to this?
I'm inclined to disagree with most of the posters above. Probably just becuase I mostly cook Italian and it is all I tend to cook. In spite of the restaurants above I find quite a lack of Italian and Thai in this city.
A lot of interesting responses here! I did not know about this piece of history. My father-in-law loved Venezia's when we went there with him. Heather, I find Vincent's about on par as Adolfo's. I love Domenica too!
