Katrina aftermath... how is it in the old part of town now?

I can't remember what the old part of town is called, you know where all the Mardigras stuff happens...
but I haven't been there in like 20 years and I was wondering how it is now after Katrina..
like, is it still a good place for tourists? I'm supposed to be going to New Orleans in a few months on business.

If you mean Bourbon St., it's back to normal, it was one of the first places to be fixed up I think.
