12oz beers becoming standard?

My favorite local restaurant Cafe D'Alsace serves all beer drafts as 12oz.
An imperial pint is 16oz but I thought most US bars used 14 oz as a standard.
Is this a trend???

Belgian beers aren't generally served as pints.
High ABV American beers aren't usually either.

An imperial pint (UK) glass is 20 oz. an American pint glass is 16 oz. The 12oz. is referred to as a glass in most bars.
