Trendy restaurants worth eating at?

I'm trying to find a restaurant for my bday- last minute- i'd like to go somewhere trendy where I can get dressed up and not look out of place, and where the food is actually good.
I'd prefer outdoor seating / rooftop dining.
Somewhere like STK rooftop or Catch....though I've heard their food is not that good.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I wanted Beauty & Essex but they are booked :(

I don't know if it's trendy, but you can get dressed up at Ouest. It's pretty awesome.

Salina's patio seating is soo nice, and food delicious / unique. Great wine, too.

I'm not sure how many people you have in your party, but Marc Forgione is a nice, trendy restaurant with good food (and yummy desserts).
Great place to get dressed up and go out for dinner and drinks with your friends.
But note - I think you can only have 6 or 8 people in your party without having to get a prix fixe.
