Volunteer. There are tons of great groups and organizations in town,
rom animal based ones like Adopt A Golden and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue that all have frequent events and social activities,
or something like Open Hand where you can pack and/or deliver meals to Atlantans who are critically or terminally ill.

Find a local place that has trivia some night a week and start going with your husband, and get to know people that also go regularly.

I recommend going to Ormsby's Bar in Atlanta.
The bar has lots of group games (bocce ball, darts, pool, board games, ski ball, etc) and forces people to make new friends.
I see lots of couples there, and I have met many people while playing in a bocce ball tournament.
