Re: Is Budapest's nightlife on the decline?

I've noticed that there are several nightclubs I know that are now closed. The smaller ones, and many others have closed their doors.
Soon, even the other big nightclubs will fold up and their bouncers and bartenders will join the ranks of the unemployed. I hope
Budapest nightlife will recover from this setback, else it will suffer from lack of tourists.

Re: Is Budapest's nightlife on the decline?

I think the reason why nightlife in the city is declining is due to the fact that some of these clubs would advertise that they will
promise you with a free entry, or a minimum fee, to a nightclub of your choice, but after a while, they will eat up your atm and credit
cards. No wonder foreign tourists would prefer to spend nightlife in cities like Berlin, Paris, or London. Even our own domestic
tourists would likewise spend their money on these Western European cities than here, and we can't blame them.

Well, I wouldn't say in decline, but descending slowly but surely. The lesser-known clubs have already closed down due to lack of revenue,
and those that survive will have to make some cutbacks such as laying off employees.

I feel sorry for those people who celebrate the nightlife here, but blame the clubs themselves for charging exhorbitant fees and charges.

For me I think nightlife is right now turning in a downwards direction, but surely it'll go in upward trend.

Maybe in 10 or 20 years, we'll see how nightlife in the city has improved, but only if the clubs themselves make the necessary changes.

Guys, don't you think you're overestimated the decline of nightlife in general but not the fall of several nightspots in the city? Personally
I think nightlife is still alive and kicking in Budapest, but the clubs are reorganizing of some sort to better serve their patrons.

Well, if reports about Budapest nightclubs charging costly charges become less frequent, then more people will enjoy nightlife, right?
