Great date ideas in Chicago?

I'm flying into Chicago for work and a chick I've been talking to is meeting me there.
She's never been to Chicago before and I'm trying to show her a good time.
Thing is that we are meeting up on Wednesday night because I'll be busy with work until Sunday.
Also, I've only been to Chicago twice before and don't know the night-life too well.
If anybody has suggestions for something fun and cool to do I'd appreciate it.
We're both 25 so age really isn't much of a limitation and money is not an issue.

What's she into? Theatre? Dancing? Food? Sports?

She is from a hick town in Indiana so anything goes.
I'm hoping for like a good trendy restaurant and then a place with good drinks/music/ and a place we can dance it out.

Whatever you do, make sure you wind up on the lake front at 9:30pm. Wednesday night fireworks. Perhaps Oak St. Beach.

Oak Street beach would not have a very good view would it? The fireworks are on the south side of Navy Pier, if you want to watch them it'd be much better to go to the downtown harbor-front.
