Last year we discussed the top 19 party cities in all of Canada, but as you may very well know, one person’s party city is another person’s snoozefest.

A city can mean different things to different people based on their experiences. Whether you live in that city, were raised in that city, are tourists to that city or a backpacker just passing through, your wants, needs and expectations of a party may be different from everyone else.

Today we are going to focus on one particular group: backpackers. With youth hostels located in over 85 cities across Canada, the great white north is one destination with the backpacker’s travel budget in mind.

Not only can you find a cheap room at one of the many hostels across the country, but some of these hostels also have their very own bars! Cheap beers and cheap beds equal a fun time in my books.

Mugshots – Ottawa

One of the more unique hostels in Canada is found in its capital city, Ottawa. The HI-Ottawa Jail hostel is located in the old Nicholas Street Gaol, which was built in 1862. Hostelling International purchased the building after it’s closure in 1972 and converted it into a hostel leaving much of the structure intact. Yes, that means you can spend a night in jail without the embarrassment of a having to call a friend or family member to bail you out. The jail’s chapel, which is typically only used in winter months, has been converted into the hostels on-site bar Mugshots. During the summer months the bar moves out into the courtyard, which was once the gallows and the place of the last public execution in Canada.

Tiki Bar Barbu – Sainte-Anne-des-Monts

Located 8 hours east of Montreal, right near the mouth of the St. Lawrence River is The Sea Shack, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts festive hostel. Ideally located to take advantage of all the outdoors has to offer, the Sea Shack hosts visitors all year round. Other than the amazing activities this hostel has to offer, from skiing to kayaking, what keeps people coming back for more are the famous parties hosted at the Tiki Bar Barbu. Even the Grinchiest of Grinches and the Scroogiest of Scrooges’ ice-cold hearts thaw just a little bit when it comes to getting together with friends for a few holiday drinks. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, from the second to third week of December, and well into the New Year, it is a great time to attend or even host a holiday party.

I’ve been to some pretty amazing parties where the host serves an elaborate themed menu, showing of their incredible culinary skills, however where many parties have failed is when it comes to party drinks. Typically BYOB (bring your own bottle) is expected.

It’s understandable of course, after all who really can afford to both feed and supply alcohol to all of their friends around this time of year. However, being able to supply some creative drinks alongside the incredible food would just blow your guests away.

The affordable solution: create a drink menu and assign each guest a particular bottle or ingredient to bring with them. Here are some of our favorite Christmas Party Drink recipes to add to your drink menu:

#1 – Eggnog

What is Christmas without a glass or two of everyone’s favorite treat – eggnog! Whether you purchase it from the store or make it from scratch, everyone loves a little eggnog each year, especially when it’s spiked. Since eggnog is our #1 pick for the most popular Christmas party drink we will not only provide you with a recipe to make homemade eggnog, but we’ll also provide you with two boozy variations. Think of it as our Christmas present to you.

· Simple Eggnog Recipe (Serves 20)

1 dozen eggs
12 oz white sugar
2 quarts milk
2 quarts whipping cream

Separate egg yolks and set whites aside for latter use. Combine egg yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl, add remaining ingredients, mix well and chill in refrigerator. Before serving whisk egg whites and fold into mixture.

· Brandy Eggnog

1 oz brandy
½ oz dark rum
8 oz eggnog
whipped cream
ground nutmeg
cinnamon sticks

Shake brandy and rum in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a mug, add freshly made eggnog, top with whip cream and garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon sticks.

· Eggnog Martini

1 ½ oz dark rum
3 oz eggnog
almond extract
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
cinnamon stick

Shake rum, eggnog and almond extract in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into martini glass rimmed with cinnamon. Garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon stick.

#2 – English Christmas Punch

This Christmas punch is enough for 27 glasses, and best of all it is served on fire! Caution should be taken when igniting the punch; you don’t want to end up with a Griswold Christmas tree.

26 oz dark rum
26 oz dry red wine
24 oz strong tea
1 lb superfine sugar
juice of 1 large orange
juice of 1 lemon
orange slices

Combine wine, tea and the juice of one lemon and orange into a saucepan. Warm the mixture, being careful not to boil. Pour into heatproof punch bowl. Add sugar to a large ladle allowing excess sugar to enter punch bowl. Pour rum over ladle until sugar is saturated. Ignite the rum and sugar mixture carefully pouring into punch bowl. Stir to extinguish flames, add remainder of rum and orange slices for garnish.

#3 – Mulled Beer

Far be it from me to tell you how to drink you beer, I am after all a proponent of warming up with a cold one, but sometimes it’s nice to offer your guests a warm drink. This holiday recipe, which serves 20 of your closet friends, creates a warm and spicy twist on the traditional Christmas beer.

10 bottles of dark ale
5 egg yolks
5 tsp white sugar
2 tsp nutmeg
cinnamon sticks
10 cloves
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground ginger

Combine beer and spices in a large saucepan and heat until ground spices dissolve. Mix sugar and egg yolks together and add to spiced beer ensuring to stir well. Pour into beer mug and garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon stick.

#4 – Hot Buttered Rum

Speaking of warming up with a warm one, this buttery treat is the perfect drink to hand your guests as they enter into you home from the frigid outdoors.

1 ½ oz of brandy
½ oz dark rum
1 Tbsp unrefined brown sugar
1 Tbsp white sugar
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
8 oz water
cloves
ground cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and warm on low heat. Works best if you make multiple cups at one time. Pour mixture into mugs and garnish with ground cinnamon

#5 – White Christmas

For those guest who wrinkle their noses to the though of eggnog, surprise them with this alternative. The additional flavors do a good job of masking that eggnog taste for those not so inclined.

1 oz Southern Comfort
½ oz white chocolate liqueur
4 oz eggnog
chocolate flakes

Shake all ingredients a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into martini glass and garnish with chocolate flakes.

#6 – Poinsettia

This elegant cocktail is made with Champagne, or sparkling wine, which will add a touch of class to any holiday party.

3 oz sparkling wine
½ oz triple sec
3 oz cranberry juice

Combine triple sec and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a Champagne flute and top with sparkling wine.

#7 – Candy Cane

Here’s a fun cocktail to make for those that have a peppermint tooth – they are easy to spot, as they are the ones always stealing the candy canes off of your tree.

¾ oz berry flavored vodka
¾ oz peppermint schnapps
¾ oz white crème de cacao
¼ oz grenadine
half and half
soda water
candy cane

Combine vodka, peppermint schnapps, white crème de cacao, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass rimmed with crushed peppermint candy. Fill with half and half, top with soda water and garnish with a candy cane.

#8 – Merry Christmas

Last but not least, here at the BarWhiz Blog we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas with a cocktail of the same name.

1 oz gin
1 oz cranberry juice
1 tsp lemon juice
club soda
fresh cranberries

Shake gin, cranberry and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice, top with club soda and garnish with fresh cranberries.

#1 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Brazil’s little piece of paradise sits nestled among a deep blue sea etched with white-sand beaches, lush rainforests and breathtaking mountain ranges. Throw in some of the most beautiful people in the world, and there is no wonder Rio de Janeiro is not only consided paradise, but it has also made our list of the best party cities in South America.

#2 Buenos Aires, Argentina

Birthplace of the Tango, Buenos Aires knows how to throw a dance party. Although the bars don’t start hopping until midnight, and many dance clubs don’t open their doors until 2am, there are many places to pre-party in this hot Latin city before heading out to an all night dance party.

#3 La Paz, Bolivia

This “de facto” Bolivian capital city sits at a staggering 3,560 metres (11,875 feet) above sea level. Its elevation is probably one of the major factors that make it a great South American party city – the booze works a lot quicker here – but the many hot and sweaty nightclubs help as well. With a history of many travellers passing through the city, the locals are friendly and the offerings are plenty, from world-class bars, to happening nightclubs, La Paz is the place to party when in Bolivia.

#4 Santiago, Chile

The party in Santiago, Chile’s cosmopolitan capital city, starts as soon as the sun goes down. The mix of international tourists, university students and young professionals makes the Santiago club scene one of the best around. From dance clubs, discos, reggae bars, and everything in between, there are plenty of places to drink a cheap beer and dance until the wee hours of the morning.

#5 Bogota, Colombia

Once considered too dangerous to visit, Colombia is finally back on the list of travel destinations. Its alpine capital city, Bogota, is now one of Latin America’s urban highlights. Not being a ‘real’ travel destination, you won’t have to worry about inflated prices or tourist traps.

Huge nightclubs with gorgeous terraces face the ocean, making the nightlife scene in this Peruvian capital one of the most unexpected party cities in South America. When looking for the party in Lima two of the best districts are Miraflores and Barranco. The clubs here open around 9pm and stay open until the early hours of the morning. Dress to impress, because with all the beautiful party people about you will want to make sure you are bringing your ‘A’ game.

#9 Georgetown, Guyana

Although Georgetown can feel like it has a tough exterior, with its decaying colonial architecture and unkempt parks, once the sun goes down the thriving night-life is very apparent. Come to think of it, for a people who love to party all night long it is no wonder the city looks like it has been on a bender.

#10 Montevideo, Uruguay

Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay, and with a vibrant music and club scene that continues to thrive, with everything from cozy tango bars to modern beachfront discos, it is no wonder that Montevideo made the list of one of the top 11 party cities in South America.

#11 Caracas, Venezuela

Caracas, Venezuela’s capital city, offers a host of nightlife options for its clubbers, bar-hoppers and salsa aficionados. Known as some of the most die-hard partiers in Latin America, caraqueños are a friendly welcoming bunch who not only know how to party, but will also steer you away from the not so safe areas of the capital.

People say that strange and exciting things happen on nights where there is a full moon; well this is certainly true of the monthly full moon parties in Koh Phangan, Thailand. Each month on the night of the first full moon, thousands of people from all over the globe descend on Koh Phangan to experience the wildest and most lively party under the sun…or, moon.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

There is nothing better than a good old-fashioned house party, both for the party atmosphere and for saving some money. You might think hosting a house party is as simple as inviting over a few friends and opening up a bag of chips, but to throw a good house party takes planning, organization and some skill.

In order to help you throw your very own house party, one that will be talked about for weeks, we have put together this simple guide, which will help you with everything from choosing a guest list to coming up with a few party games.

So without further adieu, here is the Complete Guide For Throwing A House Party On A Budget:

#1 – Choosing A Guest List

Before you even begin deciding on who you want to invite, you first need to think about the amount of people your budget can accommodate. The larger the guest list obviously means the more the expense, and usually the bigger the party.

Besides budget, you’ll want to ensure you have adequate space for the amount of people you are planning to invite. You will need enough room for everyone to fit, while still having space for people to break off into groups, and walk around to get food and drinks. And don’t forget about an area to dance!

A large house party would consist of more than 25 guests. With the large group you can afford to diversify your guests, inviting people from different aspects of your life. With a large group of people your hosting duties are usually minimal when it comes to getting conversation going. As mentioned, large parties can be quite expensive, so you can cut the costs by making it a BYOB.

A medium sized party will comfortably fit between 10 to 15 guests. With the smaller group you can afford to offer some drinks and a few finger foods without going over budget. If you get creative with the menu your guests will appreciate the effort.

A smaller house party would consist of fewer than 10 guests. These house parties are usually a little more intimate and work well where everyone knows each other. If you still want to invite guests from different groups in your life, choose wisely. Having people that do not feel comfortable mingling with strangers can make for an awkward party, one where you as the host will be doing a lot of the work keeping the conversation going. Small parties are also a great way to show off your culinary skills without breaking the bank.

#2 – Picking A Theme

Theme parties are a fun way to bring friends together and have a few drinks. The right theme can get everyone excited and allow your guests to really let go of any of their inhibitions – beer also helps too. However, picking the wrong theme can be a disaster. With the wrong theme you may find that your guests are not as enthusiast about the party as you are, and some may not participate or even show up.

Try running your theme idea by a few of your closest friends on your guest list to get a feel for how they are going to take it. Definitely pick something that does not require guests to go out and spend an inordinate amount of money looking for a costume, and certainly do not pick anything too obscure that those on your guest list will not be familiar with.

Once a theme has been decided you can use that to help you plan the other aspects of your party, from lighting and décor, to music and even the menu. The more creative you make it, the more memorable the party will be.

#3 – Creating The Proper Lighting

Even though the theme may dictate your lighting choice, creating ambiance in your house party is one of the most essential aspects, besides the booze of course, at making your guests feel welcome and at ease with their surroundings. Even without a theme, lighting will play an essential role in creating a party atmosphere.

The most inexpensive way to create some ambiance is by dimming the lights. If you don’t have a dimmer switch, you can try using tea lights, making sure of course they are located out of harms way – i.e. from being knocked over during the crazy arm-flailin’, booty bustin’ dance off.

#4 – Arranging The Music

Besides lighting, one of the other most important aspects of creating a memorable house party is music. Whether the music coincides with your theme or not, you should create a playlist, or ask one of your more capable guests to play DJ.

A good DJ always plays to the energy of the crowd, so knowing what your guest are into before hand will help you to create a playlist that will work well for your house party. Start with something light but upbeat to create the atmosphere, and work up to songs with more energy that will get the party jumpin’.

#5 – Planning A Menu

The size of your guest list will really determine your menu. As previously mentioned, the larger the party, the more the expense. So when it comes to planning a menu there are a few options to not blow your budget, as well as having to spend all day in the kitchen preparing.

With a large house party guests will not expect to be served food, but it is still a good idea to have a few munchies prepared. The classic chips n’ dip and other types of fingers foods, like fresh cut veggies, pitas and hummus, always go over well.

For the medium sized party you may want to throw in a few additional items, such as some canapés along with a cheese and fruit platter.

The smaller house party is where you can let your culinary skills shine. You don’t have to treat your guests to a full course dinner, but even making something as simple as handmade burgers for the BBQ will go a long way to impress your guests.

An additional way to save some money is to plan a potluck for the party, or even get everyone to chip in on some pizza, because remember, pizza and beer always goes hand-in-hand.

#6 – Coming Up With Party Games

If done incorrectly, a house party can be a dime a dozen. Anyone can simply invite over a few friends, turn on some music and have a few laughs while enjoying a favorite cocktail or three. But these ‘parties’ are really just boring old get-togethers. With your house party you want to do something memorable. Something creative. Something fun that will have your guests talking about it for weeks.

Your theme can go a long way to helping you create this memorable experience, but with or without a theme, it really comes down to the party games that will get your guest involved. Party games work for all sizes, from large parties to smaller intimate ones.

When designing activities remember to be creative, make them fun, and know when to initiate them. If the party is already in full party mode it might be best to shelf the game until the party dies down a bit.

With the right mix of guests, a fun and engaging theme, lighting to set the ambiance, a playlist to get the party moving, some food, and a few party games, you can easily create a memorable house party, while still staying on budget.

At the beginning of the year we provided you with not only the Top 18 Party Cities In Europe, but we also listed the Top 21 Party Cities In The USA.

Today we’re looking at the best party cities in the Canada. Since the drinking age for the majority of Canadian cities is 19 years of age, in the province of Quebec it is 18, we’ve decided to focus on the top 19 party cities.

#1 Montreal, Quebec

The number one party destination is, with out a doubt, Montreal. With the legal drinking age being only 18 and the bars and clubs serving until 3am, the party never stops in this beautiful city. On weekends there are also many after-hours clubs where the dancing lasts until dawn. Even the residents of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Canada head to Montreal to party.

#2 Toronto, Ontario

The largest city in Canada, Toronto, is also one of the best party cities the country has to offer. With its eclectic mix of cultures and neighbourhoods, Toronto also has a vast array of party places. From an immense and thriving live music scene to electronic clubs that go to the early hours of the morning, Toronto is one city where you wont have to search too hard, or too long, for a party.

#3 Vancouver, British Columbia

Although the Vancouver lifestyle is suited to the more casual establishments, bars and pubs, there is still a pretty good club scene here. But even in the bars and pubs, there is always a party. Some of the best areas to party in Vancouver are Yaletown, Gastown and of course, Granville Street and Downtown.

#4 Halifax, Nova Scotia

In Halifax the festival season never seems to end, and with their influx of live music, and plenty of bars and nightclubs to choose from, this small maritime town is one of the best party cities in Canada.

#5 Ottawa, Ontario

The capital city of Canada may be smaller than the other major cities on this list, but this town knows how to party just as hard. From live music to electronic dance clubs that are open until the wee hours of the morning, Ottawa has some of the best partying spots, all within a few blocks of each other. It is an easy city to get around at night and the close proximity to practically everything makes bar hopping a breeze. Best of all, when the bars close at 2am in Ottawa the party doesn’t have to end. Just a short jaunt across the river is Quebec, where the bars are open until 3am.

#6 Québec City, Quebec

The jewel of Quebec is without a doubt its capital city, Quebec City, or Quebec as the locals refer to it. Over looking the St. Lawrence River, this Old World European styled city is much more than meets the eye. It is also an incredible party town. For the best nightlife head on over to Grande-Allée Street or Boulevard Laurier.

#7 Sudbury, Ontario

Known for its nickel, both the mining operations and the giant nickel that adorns the city, this small Ontario town is an oasis of hipster hangouts, trendy dive bars and all night dance clubs. So whether it is a stop-over for a longer drive to one of our other party cities, or a destination in itself, Sudbury has earned its place in the top 19 party cities in Canada.

#8 Charlottetown, PEI

From brewpubs, like The Gahan House Brewery, Pub & Mercantile, to nightclubs, dive bars and lounges, such as Baba’s Lounge; this quaint little capital city is much more than meets the eye. Think small town appeal meets big town party.

#9 Victoria, British Columbia

The famed capital city of British Columbia is hidden away on the province’s island gem, Vancouver Island. With friendly and welcoming locals, the party is anywhere you end up. And with over 16,000 University of Victoria students, that can be practically anywhere, from the bar, to the club and even a beach party.

#10 Calgary, Alberta

Known as ‘Cowtown’, this Albertan city is much more than cowboy boots and country music. One of the fastest growing cities in Canada, Calgary has a thriving nightlife to match. From comfy pubs to all night dance clubs, and everything in between, partying in Calgary is “the most fun you can have with your boots on”.

#11 Edmonton, Alberta

Know for their giant mall, Edmonton is much more than Alberta’s shopping mecca. This place knows not only how to party, but how to attract the country’s most beautiful women with the annual indie arts and cultural festival, the Fringe festival, held each year in August.

#12 Winnipeg, Manitoba

Winnipeg is one Canadian city that many do not assume to be a party town, and those people have most likely never been. With it’s thriving music scene, and such events as the Winnipeg Folk Festival, this city, nestled in the heart of the prairies, is not only a great place to stop on your way West or East, but it is also a party destination in itself.

#13 St John’s, Newfoundland

With its steep roads adorned with multi coloured homes that end in a harbour, St. John’s has been described as a miniature San Francisco. This capital city may have the look of an American metropolis, but it definitely doesn’t have the attitude. Newfoundlanders are a welcoming bunch that love to party. So whether you are throwing back a few pints at one of the many George Street pubs, or have been invited to a kitchen party, this maritime city is one hell of a place to party.

#14 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Saskatoon, known to some as the Paris of the Prairies, is a party destination in itself. With a growing live music scene and lively downtown area that is populated much of the year with students from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon knows how to throw a party.

#15 Fredericton, New Brunswick

This capital city may look like a quaint sleepy little village by day, with its well-maintained flowerbeds and Georgian and Victorian homes, but come nightfall, when the bars and clubs open their doors, it is another story altogether. With over 50 bars, lounges, and nightclubs, and new ones opening all the time, you won’t have any trouble finding a place to party.

#16 Regina, Saskatchewan

It should be no surprise that the city that rhymes with fun knows how to party. Whether it is clubbing in the iconic Old Warehouse district or throwing back a few craft beers at some of the original brewpubs, Regina is more than just a stop-over city. It’s a party town worthy of a destination.

#17 Hamilton, Ontario

Some may refer to Hamilton as, the armpit of Canada for it’s unappealing smell – if you have ever been, you know what I mean – but this hard-working steel town still knows how to party. With students from McMaster University and Mohawk College partying it up each and every night, there is a little something for everyone, from the club district to Hess Village you are bound to find your party destination.

#18 Kingston, Ontario

Although Kingston may be a rest stop for those travelling between Toronto and Montreal, and vice versa, those who do not stay for the party are definitely missing out. During the school year Kingston is jammed packed with university students attending Queen’s University, who set out each weekend to party it up in the many bars, pubs and clubs sprinkled throughout the city. In the summer, one of the best music festivals in Canada, the Wolfe Island Music Festival, which sadly did not make our Top 12 ‘Must Attend’ Music Festivals Of 2012, is just a short ferry ride away.

#19 Niagara Falls, Ontario

Home to one of the natural wonder of the world, Niagara Falls is more than just a tourist destination, it’s also a party spot. Featuring everything from dive bars to strip clubs and everything in between, Niagara Falls is a miniature Vegas. After a night of partying, head on over to one of its two casinos that are open 24/7/365, and try to win back some of your drinking money.

So without further adieu, here are the Top 10 Spring Break Destinations Of 2012:

#1 – Nassau, Bahamas

Budget is the theme for the 2012 spring break. Everyone is on one and looking for a spring break destination that meets theirs. Bahamas fits that bill with super cheap spring break packages to Nassau. The cost, plus the blue water and white sands, are sure to draw a huge spring break crowd.

#2 – Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

The current economic conditions may be in a slump, but the snow conditions this year are at record highs. If you want to trade fun in the sun for fun on the slopes, then Whistler should definitely be your spring break destination of choice. Home to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics; Whistler has some of the best skiing conditions in North America.

#3 – European Destinations

From Amsterdam, London and Paris, to Rome, Florence, Madrid, and Berlin, exchange rates in the whole of Europe are reasonable enough for most spring breakers to justify heading across the pond for a week of partying. Although you’ll be trading one winter for another, you’ll avoid the summer tourist crowds and be able to see and do more.

#4 – Acapulco, Mexico

Acapulco is probably Mexico’s second or third best beachside party city, with Puerto Vallarta and Cancun coming in at the top two. But don’t worry, there is still plenty of party here to go around. Whether you are looking for a quiet hideaway, like Playa Pie de la Cuesta, or crowded party central, like La Condesa, Acapulco has plenty of beaches to choose from. Since Mexico is notorious for a cheap place to party, you are bound to find a lot of like minder spring breakers here.

#5 – Cancun, Mexico

Mexico’s Caribbean is home to the second best party spot in all of Mexico, Cancun. With beautiful beaches, and spring breakers to match, this inexpensive party spot is a great place to get your spring break on, and on a budget. The clubs are open late and the beaches are full to capacity during the day, so the spring break party never stops.

#6 – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

This beachside, mountain city is not only the best place to party it up for spring break, but also offers the greatest all-inclusive deals. With friendly locals, gorgeous beaches and an awesome nightlife, Puerto Vallarta is the place to be this spring beak.

#7 – Miami, Florida, USA

For those looking to save money and stay closer to home this year, Florida is going to be another top destination for spring breakers to blow off some steam. Both south Beach and Miami Beach will be hopping this year. South Beach is where you will find all the best clubs, so dress to impress if you want to get in. Miami Beach is bit more laid back and easier on the wallet.

#8 – Panama City, Florida, USA

Panama City was the mtv’s spring break headquarters in 2009, and even though this year they’ll be filming in Vegas, Panama City Beach is billed as the best beach to party at in 2012. With over 27 miles of beachfront, Panama City is a great close-to-home place to party in the sun, while still saving some money.

#9 – Puerto Rico, USA

Even though Puerto Rico is a US territory, which means American spring breakers can attend without first getting a passport, the drinking age here is only 18. Throw in the fact that it is relatively cheap to party here, and you have a perfect mix for a fun in the sun filled spring break that you don’t want to miss.

#10 – South Padre Island, Texas, USA

Easy to get to, and none too expensive, South Padre Island is going to be one of the most popular spring break destinations spots for 2012. With hundreds of miles of beachfront, this is a great place to party and participate in almost every conceivable water sport there is imaginable.

#1 – Prague, Czech Republic

The beers may be cheap in Prague, but they are still quality suds. Typically the destination for Europeans to celebrate stag parties, Prague is usually jumping into the wee hours in the morning. With the influx in tourism, Prague clubs are now attracting world-class DJs.

#2 – Paris, France

Parisian nightlife has a little bit of something for everyone. From bars, pubs and bistros, to clubs and after-hours parties, the best districts to party in, hands down, are the Latin Quarter, which caters to the 20s crowd, and the Bastille, which offers plenty of options to dance the night away.

#3 – Berlin, Germany

With a huge student population that has disposable income to burn, and no day job to wake up to, Berlin is definitely one of the top party cities in the world. The bars and clubs close when the last patron leaves, which is typically sometime during the midmorning.

#4 – Mykonos, Greece

This relatively inexpensive vacation destination is a great place to party. With a number of clubs and beach bars, Mykonos nightlife is a great way to unwind from a hard day of lying on the beach and soaking up the sun.

#5 – Budapest, Hungary

The Budapest club scene keeps partying until 4am, and afterwards there are plenty of after-hours palces, but you just have to know where to go to find them. One of the most unique clubs that attracts DJs from all over the globe is A38, which is located in an old Ukrainian stone-carrying ship that has been refurbished and permanently moored in the Danube.

#6 – Florence, Italy

When you are in Italy you have to dress to impress, and this is no different when in Florence. Even though the Florence party scene caters to the younger crowd, the huge student population, and 18-year-old drinking age can be the cause for this, you still want to wear your best club gear. The party stops around 3am in Florence, and although that may seem early by comparison, in Italy, that’s late.

#7 – Dublin, Ireland

If you are looking to go on a real party pub-crawl, then Dublin is your destination. With a pub virtually on every corner, you’ll not want for a good place to party. But remember, this is beer town, no fancy cocktails here.

#8 – Riga, Latvia

Latvia has a huge selection of bars and clubs to choose from, with cheap drinks and late closing times this is a great place to party. Tourists flock here for nightlife, but be careful, some clubs are better than others. If you can stay away from the tourist traps, you’ll have a great time.

#9 – Amsterdam, Netherlands

With bars and clubs that are open until noon the next day, live sex shows in the Red Light District, and their famous coffee shops, Amsterdam is party central of Europe. What is considered taboo in most other countries is completely legal here.

#10 – Krakow, Poland

With its historical buildings and tiny streets, Krakow is one of the most up and coming party destinations in Europe. They have a great jazz scene and many clubs and bars that cater to all kind of music. There are also many after-hours clubs that last until dawn.

#11 – Lagos, Portugal

This beach town is the party place for booze-cruises, all night beach parties, pub-crawls and many clubs where the party goes well into the early hours of the morning. Soak in the sun the next day to cure your hangover, because come nightfall, it’s party time again.

#12 – Belgrade, Serbia

From the busy bar scene out at the Skadarlija District to the clubs located on moored barges on the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade is one of the most unique party cities in all of Europe. But when the bars and clubs close, the party isn’t over, you’ll just have to find yourself one of the many hidden after-hours clubs sprinkled throughout the city.

#13 – Barcelona, Spain

If you are not a night person, well then Barcelona is not for you. The party here doesn’t even get started until 2am, so head out to one of the many bars and bistros available and get ready to dance the morning away at one of the many clubs throughout the city. Rest up during the day, because the party doesn’t end until well past dawn.

#14 – Ibiza, Spain

The number one party destination of hedonists from all across Europe, and the world, is easily Ibiza, Spain. The pre-party here starts around 11pm, and just like Barcelona, the actual party doesn’t get started until 2am and goes to about 8 in the morning, just in time for the after-hours clubs to open. By noon you’ll be back in your bed, so get a good days sleep, cause the party starts again in 11 hours.

#15 – Pamplona, Spain

If you haven’t figured it out yet, Spain pretty much dominates the best party cities in Europe. What can we say, with this much partying happening here, all over the country, we just had to give them three spots on our list. Last but not least is Pampola, famous for the annual Running of the Bulls during the festival of San Fermin. Here the clubs stay open until 6am, with many after-hours choices to seek out.

#16 – Stockholm, Sweden

Stockholm has made Wednesday the new weekend. The party here starts mid-week and last until Sunday evening. With many clubs staying open until 5am, one wonders how productive the 9 to 5′ers are at the end of the week.

#17 – Istanbul, Turkey

Beautiful and exotic Istanbul is a must attend party city. You’ll not only be amazed at the beauty of the city, but you will also be blown away by how hard its inhabitants can party.

#18 – London, UK

In London you’ll find the best of the best, whether your tastes lean towards pubs or dance clubs with the best electronic DJs from around the globe, there is something for everyone here in London. Just one note, bring cash, lots of it, because of all our party cities on this list, London is probably the most expensive place to party.

Movember is that happy time of year where men around the world sport their best moustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer. The rules are quite simple, you simply need to start with a clean-shaven face on November 1st, and grow your best moustache by the end of the month.

1/2 oz Spiced Rum
1/2 oz Butter Ripple Schnapps

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, strain into a shot glass, and serve.

1 1/2 oz Coconut Rum
1 oz Grenadine
4 oz Pineapple Juice

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, strain into a highball glass, and serve.

#3) Moustache Ride

1 oz Gin
Diet Coke

Pour gin and diet coke over ice cubes in a highball glass, stir and serve.

#4) Flaming Moustache

3 oz Vodka
3 oz Passoa Liqueur
1 oz Orange Juice
pepper

Pour vodka, passoa and orange juice over crushed ice in a highball glass, garnish with pepper and serve.

#5) The Mo-Bro-jito

1 1/2 oz White Rum
6 Mint Leaves
1 tbsp Sugar
1/2 oz Lime Juice
2 oz Soda

Place mint leaves in bottom of highball glass, add crushed ice, rum, sugar, and lime juice, and muddle. Top off with soda water and garnish with mint leaves.
