In the summer of 2012, we put together a list of the Top 19 Party Cities In Canada. Coming in at #2 on our list was Toronto, Ontario.

Toronto is the largest city in Canada and known for it’s iconic CN Tower, which held the title as the tallest freestanding structure for just over 30 years, that was until the completion of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2007. Even though the city may have lost its world title for tallest buildings, it still keeps its cool with being one of the most diverse and best party cities in Canada.

At BarWhiz we are all about building a community. Not only do we try to provide you with tips for the best party places, but we also have an extensive list of members who review specific cities, bars, clubs, etc. right on our website. We understand that every one is entitled to their own opinion, so whether you agree with this list or not, we would really appreciate if you take the time to review your favourite Toronto bars. To show you how much we really appreciate your input, we will enter you into a draw for a chance to win something special from us, your favorite drink *.

So without further adieu, here are the BarWhiz picks for the Best Bars In Toronto:

Annex Wreck Room

Located near the University of Toronto is the Annex. This neighborhood has long been home to both students and faculty of the university. With the influx of students, many great bars and clubs have opened in the area, and our favourite is the Annex Wreck Room. Located on Bathhurst in one of the more lively areas of Toronto, the Wreck Room is a non-stop party, with live rock shows and funky dance music on any given night. Like many great places in Toronto, it can get packed, so arrive early enough to make sure you get a spot on the dance floor.

Bar Volo

Located on the iconic Yonge St., just South of Bloor West, you will find Bar Volo, which has been an institution for all things beer for over 20 years. With a huge selection of international bottles, craft beers and their own concoctions from the onsite microbrewery, Bar Volo is one of the best places to grab a great tasting beer in all of Toronto.

Ceili Cottage

Owner Patrick McMurray turned a rundown auto shop on Queen Street East into one of the best Irish pubs in all of Toronto. Ceili Cottage is not your typical Toronto Irish Pub, you won’t find any bottled beer here, only draft. The Ceili Cottage also has a great patio that is open all year round. In the winter the patio area is converted into a skating rink and there is even a yurt where you can go warm up with a cold one.

Crocodile Rock

Located on Adelaide, just west of University, is one of the best multi-story clubs in the city. What makes Crocodile Rock better than most of places in the club district is the lax dress code, the relatively inexpensive drinks (there’s always a special on every day of the week), the rooftop patio, the pool tables, and finally, it’s a great place to go cougar hunting.

Crush Wine Bar

If you are looking for a great wine bar in Toronto, then head on over to King West and Spadina to take in all that is the Crush Wine Bar. They offer specials, flights, great food and best of all, they have a pretty decent patio where you can sit back and enjoy some fine wine with friends.

Parts and Labour

Located at the far end of Queen Street West, just seven blocks from Dufferin is the hardware store turned resto-bar. If you are looking for a great hipster hangout in Parkdale, with amazing cocktails and food to make then look no further than Parts and Labour.

Swirl Wine Bar

If you are looking for a great wine bar in the east end, head on down to Queen East and check out the Swirl Wine Bar. Granted, with décor that is in pink and blacks, Swirl if definitely a girls night out type of place, but the wine selection is excellent and the food is delicious.

The Dakota Tavern

Located in a small, dark basement is the Dakota Tavern. If you are looking to have a few drinks and enjoy some live bluegrass and country music, then this is the best bar in Toronto to do just that. You can find this gem near the corner of Ossington and Dundas West.

The Thompson Rooftop

If you are looking to enjoy a cocktail, albeit a relatively expensive one, with a great view, then go no further than the Thompson Rooftop lounge. Located Wellington St. West, this rooftop bar is open all year long and boasts one of the best views of the city. Even though they have upscale cocktails and a rooftop swimming pool their food menu follows a more pub style route, but hey, you came for the view not the food right?

Thirsty & Miserable

Located in the historic Kensington Market is the dive chic Thirsty & Miserable. Although they are going for the dive feel, with their black and red colour scheme and microwaveable meals, their selection of craft beers far exceeds any brewpub in the city. However, owner Katie G. Warror, guitarist of the hard-core band Brutal Knights, has no problem with you bringing your own snacks, if you so desire. But really, who doesn’t enjoy a Hungry-Man meal? It does complement a craft IPA oh so well.

* We will order for you your facorite drink to your address up to a value of 100$ if you win the draw, you will need to have your email updated in your account so we can contact you

In our best party cities series we are slowly making our way through the North American Continent. First we gave you our picks for the best party cities in Canada. Then we provided you with our choices of the top 21 party cities in the USA. Today we will head further south and let you know all about our 5 favourite Mexican party cities.

We’d also like to give a little something back to the BarWhiz community. So if you have ever partied in any of these cities in Mexico, or any others we may have missed, why not post a review here and you might just win a little something from us, say like your favorite drink.

So without further adieu, here are the BarWhiz picks for the Best Party Cities In Mexico:

Tijuana

It’s dangerous. It’s sexy. It’s a non-stop party town. Yes I’m talking about Tijuana. With a population closing in on 2 million people, Tijuana really is the Mexican city that never sleeps. There seems to be more bars and nightclubs here than any other city in Mexico. As a border town, there is a huge influx of American tourists coming in from California to party for a night in the almost anything goes city. From the great prices on drinks, to the great food, this party town seems to have a culture all of its own. It’s definitely Mexican, but darker and more exciting.

Cabo San Lucas

Head south to the tip of the Baja peninsula for party central, Cabo San Lucas. People from all over the world venture to this Mexican city to party all day and all night. Granted the peak time for the best party action is during spring break, but there is still much to be had anytime of the year in Cabo. From all night beach parties, to happy hours that run from noon to 7pm, you won’t need to look too hard to have a good time.

Puerto Vallarta

Next we’ll head to a resort city that is situated on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, that’s right, our next party city is Puerto Vallarta. This Mexican party city has become such a popular vacation spot that the city itself is expanding faster than regular visitors, and even locals, can keep up with. Although the downside to more party people venturing into the city may be increased prices and more packed clubs, the upside is the ultimate party atmosphere. Clubs typically stay open well beyond their official 4 a.m. last call, and new cantinas and dance clubs are opening up all the time. Go to Puerto Vallarta for the beaches, but stay for the party.

Mexico City

Now we’ll head further inland, away from the sandy beaches of the Pacific, and into the heart of Mexico. The next Mexican party destination is none other than Mexico City. From the Centro Histórico downtown area, with its vast array of bars and clubs, to the posh bars of the Polanco, Condesa and Roma neighborhoods, there is a little something for everyone in this bustling metropolis of over 20 million residents. The majority of clubs don’t really get going until after midnight and stay open until the wee hours of the morning. If you are travelling through Mexico looking for a party, a definite stop is Mexico City.

Cancun

Finally, we’ll head to the eastern most point of Mexico. Located on the Yucatán Peninsula, on the sandy shores of the Caribbean Sea is everyone’s favourite Mexican resort destination, Cancun. This manmade resort offers more than just gorgeous tropical settings and luxury accommodations; it also has a huge reputation as a party town. Not unlike Cabo, the peak party season is during spring break, but the club scene is still very prevalent every other day of the year. Spend your days sipping fancy drinks by the pool or on the sandy beaches, and your nights dancing in the clubs until dawn. Cancun is a must attend party city for any party-goer looking to experience what Mexico has to offer.

As part of our ongoing mission to provide you with the best of the best, today we are going to focus on a specific European country and let you know what our picks are for the best party cities in France.

You may recall that awhile ago we developed a list of the Top 18 Party Cities In Europe, and even though France only made the list for one of its cities, this largest country in Western Europe has much more to offer.

Here at BarWhiz we are always about giving back to our community. So whether you agree or disagree with our choices for Best Party Cities In France, we would still like to hear from you. Give a review of one of these party cities on the city page, which can be found here and you will be entered into a draw for a chance to win something from us, say like your favorite drink.

So without further adieu, here are the BarWhiz picks for the Best Party Cities In France:

Marseille

With a history dating back over 2,600 years, Marseille is an amazing city to party in. Being the second largest city in France does help with the nightlife, but the Marseille owes much of its culture to the eclectic mix of its residents. With roots going back to North and West Africa, as well as Italy, there is a little of something for everyone in the way of nightlife in this city. Take a stroll down La Canebière and head into Vieux-Port for a great mix of clubs and bars where you can party the night away.

Bordeaux

Although Bordeaux may be known for being the wine capital of France, it still is quite the party town. Thanks to the high population of students in this city there is much more to do then sip delicious wine. Bordeaux also has a great nightlife. If you are looking for a great pub or bar to have a few drinks in and practice your French on the local talent, then head on over to the La Victoire. If dance clubs are more your thing check out the Quais, which is located near the train station. The majority of clubs in this area don’t have cover, but if you are intoxicated they won’t let you in, so try not to pre-game too much on that Bordeaux.

Le Havre

Right along the coast of the English Channel you will find the party city of Le Havre. This northwestern France town offers quite a diverse mix of both pubs and clubs that range in price from way too expensive to just right. Some of the best places to grab a drink are in the city centre, the Quartier St-François, and of course the beach.

Strasbourg

Situated across the Rhine River from Germany, Strasbourg offers the best of both French and German cultures. Combine a culture known for their beer making with one known for their wine and you have an instant party town. With a huge student population helping the city to keep its nightlife both fun and inexpensive, you won’t have too look to hard for the party that is right for you. Whether it’s sipping back some delicious beers or dancing the night away until the wee hours of the morning – with some clubs closing at 7am – Strasbourg is one French city where the party truly doesn’t stop.

St. Tropez

Last, but certainly not least is France’s ultimate party city, St. Tropez. Located along the French Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea, this ultimate party town has been the go to destination for the rich and famous for many years. Although partying in St. Tropez can be quite expensive, it is worth it for the experience, even if just for one night. Dress to impress, and if you are a guy make sure you have a girl on your arm or it’s likely you’ll be denied entrance to any of the clubs. But don’t fret, just because you don’t own a yacht it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to partake in much of what the city has to offer – likely you’ll just not be able to rub elbows with the glitterati.

About the Author
Corey Rozon is a freelance writer from Ottawa, Canada.

Last June I was fortunate enough to spend 4 nights and three days in the Windy City. It was a good friend’s bachelor party and he always wanted to rip it up in Chicago. We took in a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. We ate some deep-dish pizza. And we definitely tried our best to hit every one of the Best Types Of Bars For Bachelor Parties on our list. Mind you, it wasn’t all just fun and games, as along the way I did do some preliminary research for this post of the Best Bars In Chicago.

When coming up with a Best Of anything list, there will always be people who will disagree. As a wise man once said, “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

Here at the BarWhiz Blog we completely agree with that ideal, but also know that each and every one of your opinions matter. That is why we would like you to take the time to review any of these bars found of our Best Bars In Chicago list, or any Chicago bars for that matter, here on the Chicago page. Best of all, if you take the time to leave a review we will enter you into a draw for a chance to win something special from us, your favorite drink *.

So without further adieu, here are the BarWhiz picks for the Best Bars In Chicago:

#1 Big Star

One of the best places to get your day drink on is at the Big Star patio. Enjoy one of their famous margaritas, chug back a few cold ones and nosh on some delicious pork belly tacos. Get there early, because on a nice day the patio fills up fast.

#2 Green Mill Cocktail Lounge

From their Sunday night poetry slams to live Jazz every night, the Green Mill has been beat-boppin’ and scattin’ all over Chicago for the last 100 hundred years. It’s a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy a tasty beverage or two in one of Chicago’s uptown neighbourhoods.

#3 Half Acre Tap Room

If you are a fan of Chicago’s local brew, Half Acre, then you will be excited to try their bare essential Tap Room. There aren’t any televisions on the wall showing the game. There’s no tapas menu or daily cocktail special. It’s just all about the beer. With ten taps flowing everyday and one-off casks and firkins being poured every Friday, the Half Acre Tap Room is a great place to grab a delicious beer in Chicago.

#4 Scofflaw

If cocktails are more your thing, then head on over to Logan Square for some seriously amazing cocktails at Scofflaw. Be warned, it is a gin joint, so the majority of cocktails are infused with that delicious juniper berry based spirit. Even if you are not a fan of gin you should give it a try, you may just be surprised.

#5 Funky Buddha Lounge

Funky Buddha is an extremely cool little place to dance the night away. Since it is a favourite hangout for locals it’s also a great way to make some new Chicago friends, and maybe more. Local DJs are on set most nights to spin some music that will get you moving.

#6 Moody’s Pub

Located in the neighbourhood of Edgewater, Moody’s Bar is notorious for its amazing burgers, inexpensive drink list, and for having one of the best beer gardens in all of Chicago. Although the exterior of this Pub is very un-pub like, the interior will make you forget you are anywhere but one of the best pubs in Chicago.

#7 Sheffield’s Wine & Beer Garden

Another great beer garden in the city is Sheffield’s Wine & Beer Garden. With an impressive selection of wine and beer, plus some very tasty selections from the BBQ, Sheffield’s is a great bar to spend on those warm summer days sipping some wine and catching up with friends.

#8 Sound Bar

If you are really looking for a hot sweaty dance party, then look no further than Chicago’s very own Sound Bar. Brining in the best DJs and party promoters around, the Sound Bar has three specialized rooms to get you moving on the dance floor, two that are for every one and one that is members only. But hey, if you got some moves, maybe you’ll get an invite into the VIP room.

#9 Duke of Perth

From the attractive kilted wait staff, to over 90 options of single-malt scotch, the Duke of Perth is the best Scottish pub in all of Chicago. Granted, Chicago only has like two Scottish pubs, but the Duke is by far the best. So if you like your kilts short and your scotch smooth, head on over to the Duke, and make sure you get there early ’cause it can get a wee bit packed on any given night of the week.

#10 Hopleaf Bar

Another great Chicago bar, with a pretty amazing beer garden, is the Hopleaf Bar in Andersonville. What really sets it apart from every other bar on our list, other than the fact that they serve probably the best steamed mussels in the entire city, is their selection of Belgian beers and Trappist ales. The Hopleaf is a neighbourhood bar with a loyal group of regulars, so don’t be surprised if you can’t get a seat if you arrive too late.

* We will order for you your facorite drink to your address up to a value of 100$ if you win the draw, you will need to have your email updated in your account so we can contact you

Here at the BarWhiz Blog we love to provide you with information about the best bars, clubs, and party cities from all over the world.

We are so passionate about helping you to find a great night out that we even have our very own app – (see below for our shameless plug).

However, we know the internet is a big place. There are hundreds of websites that will help you to find a great hotel, an awesome restaurant, or anything in between. We just happen to specialize in bars and clubs, and in our modest opinion, we’re one of the best – (at least our Moms think so).

That being said, we have put together a list of 8 pretty amazing bar apps to help you when you are out on the town. So without further adieu here are the BarWhiz Blog picks for Best Bar Apps:

Elbatrop

One of the top 10 navigation apps in the UK, Elbatrop.com has a Find Pubs & Bars app. Using your phone’s GPS this app can tell you where the closest bar or pub is. And although it is billed as a UK app, they state that they can find you a place to knock back a few cold ones anywhere in the world. You can get it here for free.

UrbanDaddy

UrbanDaddy.com‘s, The Next Move is an app specifically designed for some of the more popular cities in the US. Currently the app works in Boston, Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, and the Hamptons. The idea behind this app is not only to find the best bar in the area, but it also helps you to find the best bar for specific occasions, such as grabbing a drink with the boys, going on a date, or even riding solo. If you find yourself in any of the cities listed above, you can download it here for free.

DrinkedIn

DrinkedIn.net‘s Bar Finder boasts over 150,000 bar and pub listings in and around the UK, Australia, US, Brazil, and Canada. The app will provide you with information about the bar including directions through Google Maps. If you want to give it a try you can find it here.

Happy Houred

AppsoluteMedia.com’s Happy Houred is all about finding the best drink specials. Although the app only works for cities in the US, it is quite extensive. Happy Houred currently boasts 22,000 entries located in over 2,000 cities. You can try it here for free.

UrbanDig

Currently UrbanDig.com‘s app only works for a few North American cities, namely Los Angeles, New York, Portland, San Francisco and Vancouver. However, due to its success there are plans to slowly add more destinations. What makes this app so great is that they have assigned specific ‘curators’ for each destination who truly know what the city has to offer. Urbandig’s specialty is uncovering the best local establishments that few travelers know about. If you want to feel like a local, you can download the app from itunes.

Findmytap

Available only in the US, Findmytap.com‘s draught beer app allows beer connoisseurs to find exactly which bar serves their favourite suds on tap. The app will provide directions to the closest bar from your location, contact information for the bar, and reviews from other users. It’s a pretty nifty app if you are looking for something specific to drink. Want to give it a try? You can find it here.

Find Craft Beer

Similar to the Findmytap app, FindCraftBeer.com‘s app will help you to find craft beers. What sets it apart form any other app is that it will not only points you to bars and brew pubs serving up your favourite craft brews, but it will also point you to the closest microbreweries, beer stores and homebrew shops that can cater to your needs. You can download their app for just $0.99.

BarWhiz App

**Shameless plug alert**
Of course no list of Best Bar Apps would be complete without the BarWhiz.com app. With our very own app you can literally find bars anywhere in the world. You can add and view reviews from other members, see pictures, and participate in discussions about your favourite venues. If you want to try it right now you can download it here for free.

Whether you are a pro boarder, skier, or even experiencing your first time out, you probably already know that there is nothing better after a long day of sliding down the mountain through the powdery white stuff then hitting the chalet for a little après-ski. Some of the best ski resorts to party at are well aware of this and have catered their villages to the ultimate après-ski party.

Here are our top 5 picks of the best ski resorts to party at:

#5 – Mont Tremblant, Canada

Nestled in the Laurentians, just two hours north of Ottawa, and about a hour and a half north of Montreal, is the Mont Tremblant Ski Resort. At an elevation of 2,871 feet, Mont Tremblant is one of the tallest peaks in the Laurentians and the best ski resort in all of Eastern Canada – it has even been voted as best ski resort in all of eastern North America. Not only does the elevation and amazing runs make Tremblant one of the best ski resorts, but also its many après-ski party spots have helped to elevate it into our top 5 best ski resorts to party at. When taking a ski trip to Tremblant make sure you hit up the following party spots:

· Le P’tit Caribou
· Le Shack Resto Bar
· La Forge
· Cafe de l’Epoque

#4 – Val D’Isere, France

With over 300 kilometres of slopes, 2 glaciers, 94 lifts and 158 runs Val D’Isere has some of the best skiing around. It is also a great place to party at, and the reason that it is our #4 pick. Home of the original Dick’s Tea Bar, Val D’Isere pretty much invented the term après-ski, so when you are looking to warm up with a cold one, try out these favourite spots:

· Café Face
· Dick’s Tea Bar
· Saloon Bar

#3 – Zermatt, Switzerland

One of the nine largest ski resorts in the world, and the largest in Europe, Switzerland’s Zermatt boast an incredible 2,200 vertical metres of skiing terrain. After a busy day of top to bottom skiing we know you will definitely need to unwind in one of the many clubs and bars in the village. Here are our recommendations on where to party:

· Papperla Pub
· Hennu Stall
· Hotel Post
· GramPi’s Pub

#2 – Vail, US

Not to be outdone, the largest ski resort in the US boasts over 5000 acres of skiing terrain – 5,289 acres to be exact – featuring 193 runs, seven bowls, and some pretty stellar glades. Yes we are talking about Colorado’s very own Vail. And although the drinking age in the US is not as liberal as it is in the rest of the world, you can still find some pretty good places to party after a long day of hitting the slopes. Here are our picks:

· The Red Lion
· Tap Room
· Agave
· Garfinkel’s
·

#1 – St. Anton, Austria

With a vertical drop of 1,507 metres and some of the deepest snow bases in the Alps, this western Austrian ski resort is our pick as the #1 ski resort to party at. The challenging terrain attracts many of the best skiers and boarders to this party village each year, and it is regarded as one of the best après-ski resorts in the World, and not just by us. If you ever get a chance to ride St. Anton, then make sure you save some energy for some of our favourite après-ski bars that this resort has to offer:

Although Prague is famous for its extraordinary number of museums and historical attractions, it’s also home to 800 pubs and nightclubs – the perfect choice for a city break with an exciting nightlife.
Whether you’re someone who enjoys a well-made cocktail, a couple who want to see some live music in a local bar or a big group of friends who want to just dance the night away in a club, Prague has something to all tastes, styles and budgets.

Use this guide to choose the best places to visit on your city breaks in Prague. For more information on the city’s districts and where to stay in Prague, look here.

Prague Restaurants

The quality of the restaurants in Prague as drastically improved in the last ten years. Whether you want to sample the local cuisine or want something more familiar, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Prague’s exciting New Town. New Town is actually that new (it was created in the 1300s), however it’s the best place to find the unpretentious clubs in Prague. There’s also a great choice of restaurants to start the night off here.

U Ferdinanda is a relaxed Czech restaurant-come-pub that is popular with both tourists and locals for its tasty and reasonably priced food, wild décor and cheap beer.

One of the best Oriental restaurants in New Town can be found at the Hotel Yasmin Prague. Its ‘Noodles’ restaurant serves delicious noodle dishes, as well as some good Italian spaghetti dishes too(!).

Nightlife:

Prague Pubs

For the ultimate bar crawl head to the Old Town district of Prague. Here you’ll find everything from traditional Czech pubs to swanky cocktail bars, jazz clubs to underground grunge joints.

To get a taste of authentic Prague nightlife (and beer!) try The Tomcat pub in Mala Strana district, next to Old Town. It serves local beer with a citrusy flavour from the nearby Bernard brewery. It shuts at 11pm, so bet to get there early and move on to the bigger bars in Old Town later on.

The Golden Tiger pub has a great atmosphere on a weekday night. Find it near to Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge, it serves a fantastic pint of Pilsner and is always popular with locals and visitors.

Prague Bars

For a cool, urban bar in Old Town, head to the Agharta Jazz club. The red brick cellar with high vaulted ceiling is a great venue for live music – enjoy funk, jazz and fusion here with a local brew or refreshing cocktail.

For a night out in one of Prague’s swankier bars, head to Tretters Bar, also in Old Town. With lots of punters dressed in sharp suits and beautiful dresses, it’s one of the places to be seen in Prague. The 1930’s décor and elegant cocktail menu make it a special venue to visit on a night out.

Prague Nightclubs

New Town has some of the best nightclubs in Prague. If you’re on a big group night out, head to Duplex – a popular club with stag and hen parties. The club is in a glass cube on one of the higher levels that overlook Wenceslas Square. MTV has held parties here and Duplex like to play the best in trance and dance music in this fun venue.

Karlovey Lazne is closer to Old Town, near the river. It’s open till 5am every day and entry is roughly 150Czk per person, but you can get discounts for big groups. It’s the largest club of its kind in central Europe, spanning over five floors, each with their own theme. It’s the most popular club in the Czech Republic and definitely one of the best places to finish your night out in Prague.

Bath is a beautiful city which offers incredible nightlife, a vibrant student scene, talented local DJs and a selection of pubs, clubs and bars. In this post we're covering its great nightlife and not forgetting its spectacular beauty and "daylife".

Bath is a spectacularly beautiful city which stands on the River Avon among the hills of England’s West Country. The city’s compactness and striking architecture – Roman baths and sweeping Georgian terraces – combine to produce one of the most elegant sights in Europe.

The ancient Celts, who first inhabited this area, believed that Bath’s hot springs were sacred, but it was the Romans who built the temple and the famous baths – now restored to their original grandeur.

If all Bath had to offer was some incredible nightlife, a vibrant student scene, hundreds of very talented local DJs and a modest but wonderfully varied selection of pubs, clubs and bars then it would be a pretty cool place to live – dry during the day, sure, but alive at night.

Sadly, that’s not the case.
Bath is pretty magical in the daytime too.
Take a wonder up Milson Street under the Christmas lights, crash out at Royal Crescent on one of those belting hot summer’s days or just while the hours away with a coffee sitting by the river – Bath, on the face of it, has got ‘it’.

Go out and discover that amazing night out, that band you can’t get enough of, that little bar where they had to kick you out to clean up, that cafe you never dreamed would exist down that little side street.

Bath is a phenomenal place to take up that sport you’ve always thought would be kind of fun but you’ve never tried, the place to get that Saturday job you’ve fancied for a little while; it’s the place to discover yourself academically and personally.

Bath really does just keep on giving. You’ll love your first year, everyone does, but you’ll love your second year even more and after that, well, you’ve still not seen it all. Bath could be that great place to study or a place to discover, learn and find out exactly what you’re about; the place where you had so many amazing times and met so many amazing people.

Bath could be your home from home or…just become home.
Whatever ‘it’ is, make sure you enjoy it…

Pubs and Bars:

Back To Mine

The one complaint of Back to Mine is that its front door does it little justice. Inside has to be seen to be believed! Normally a funkier, more soulful venue than Bath’s other clubs, Back to Mine is free from Monday to Thursday and, if you get hooked, its well worth becoming a member on the Facebook page – the discounts are good value.

Lamb and Lion

Allegedly the Lamb and Lion is the place to find Bath’s cheapest pint. All the features you would want from your local; pool tables, beer garden, TV screens and a decent selection of beers, wines and cocktail pitchers. It’s an ideal place to start the night

Parade Bar

The Parade Bar is a party bar, populated year round with students. Food is served all day, there’s a variety of cheap snacks and meals and best of all cheap drinks. Right on the Bath University campus, it’s merely a stagger back to your accommodation. Open until 2am on Friday’s – it’s a night out not to be missed!

The Boater

The Boater is as good for a Sunday afternoon Guinness curled up in front of the footy as it is for a long summers evening overlooking the weir in the beer garden. It’s always lively, particularly on rugby days but is always a good place to catch the big match.

Moles

Name any half decent band from the last twenty years and they have probably played Moles.
It really is the place to go for indie-rock and upcoming bands with live acts several times a week. When there’s no music Moles is a favourite with clubbers, the obligatory ‘Cheesy Tuesdays’ is a big hit, as are The Snugs who play reggae, funk and soul on a Friday night.

Next to Tennessee, Atlanta, GA, makes some of the freshest Jack and Cokes around, because, for those not in the know, Atlanta is the birthplace of Coca-Cola. The hot summer nights and cold drinks make for an incredible party atmosphere. So come for the sun, stay for the fun.

The median age in Dallas, TX, is 32 years old, which makes for an excellent party atmosphere – old enough to know better, too young to care. Basically, the only thing that is not acceptable in Dallas is 24-hour bar service, but that’s why beer also comes in a can, right?

Savannah has been referred to as Little New Orleans, but with the ability to also drink in the streets we tend to think of it as Little Vegas, or maybe Little New Orleans would be a better moniker. Whatever you want to call it, we call it one hell of a good time.

Tampa, FL, has a surprisingly high amount of strip clubs. It works out to something along the lines of one strip club for every 3,425 local Tampa men. Well even the leaders of our country have to kick back every once and awhile, and there are always the college kids to inject some fun into this town. The best places to party can be found found in Georgetown, Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, and U Street.

Atlanta, Georgia is the Capital of The South, and over the years this little city has become massive. Although tourists come for the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo, the real partiers stay for the downtown Atlanta nightlife, which is just as vast as the city itself.

The Athens of America, or Boston, Massachusetts as many of you may know it as, is a great party town all year round, especially between September and May, when Boston’s prestigious colleges draw in students from all over the world. With them, they bring a renewed sense of cultural enthusiasm, which has helped to spawn everything from music festivals to hip clubs and Irish pubs.

Los Angeles, California, the home of the silver screen and where every bartender and server is an actor. Although LA may be a bit superficial, it is still one hell of a place to party. So go, get some sun and hit up the clubs at night, and who knows, you may even be able to say, “Hey! I know that actress, she once served me a beer.”

With more bars and clubs than anywhere else in the United States New York, New York, well, it’s a hell of a town.

Canada:

#9 Calgary

‘Cowtown’, or Calgary as it is known by most, is the home of the Calgary Stampede, a 10-day rodeo that brings in millions of people. Even though country music culture may not be your thing, the after-rodeo parties are epic.

#10 Montreal

The legal drinking age in Montreal is 18, so not only is it a popular party spot for Canadians living outside of Quebec who want to enjoy a night out of the clubs one year early, but Americans also flock to this multi-lingual town. They all may come for the drinks, but they certainly stay for the beautiful French women… er, I mean culture.

#11 Toronto

Toronto gets a bad rap from other major Canadian cities, but jealousy does do strange things to people. There is a reason why Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and it is not just because of the free healthcare, it’s the party atmosphere that practically happens 24/7/365.

#12 Vancouver

Vancouver, the most beautiful city in the world, was recently the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and if you missed it, I’m sorry to say, but I don’t think you’ll see a party like that again. But just because the 2010 Winter Olympics are over, it doesn’t mean Vancouver has lost its party edge.

Europe:

#13 Amsterdam

Amsterdam is where Europeans go to party. Like Toronto, the party in Amsterdam goes 24/7/365. However, unlike the more conservative Canada, these after-hours parties typically last until noon the next day.

#14 Barcelona

Barcelona clubs play every type of music imaginable, from electronic to salsa. Rated as the Spanish party headquarters, Barcelons clubs typically don’t open till midnight and don’t close till dawn, well at least the good ones don’t, that is.

#15 Berlin

Berlin is an anything-goes kind of town, from outdoor bars to hidden music venues, you are bound to find, or at least try to locate, a party every single night. And with no curfew, you’ll have all the time in the world to get your party on.

#16 Budapest

Budapest has recently jumped into the European party scene with their introduction of ‘sparties’. They’ve taken their love of spas and combined it with their ever-expanding selection of nightclubs, to form this once in a lifetime party experience.

#17 Ibiza

Ibiza is renowned as the biggest party spot on the planet. Here the nightclubs don’t open till 2am, and they finish around eight in the morning. But the party isn’t done; after-hours parties get started at 8am and keep going until noon. If you want an all day party, Ibiza is the place to be.

#18 London

London will be hosting the 2012 Olympic games this summer, and if the party was anything like the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, it will definitely be a not miss kind of atmosphere. If you can’t make it for the party next summer, don’t worry, on the whole, London is the place to be with its selection of posh pubs and edgy music. The party hasn’t stopped here since the late 1500s.

#19 Moscow

The Moscow party scene may be a bit tough to get into, but once you get passed the velvet ropes, you are in for the time of your life. These stylish, vodka-fuelled partygoers know how to party until the wee hours of the morning.

#20 Prague

Prague is Europe’s destination city for stag parties. So like other party cities, this place is always jumping. Nightclubs typically run until dawn, and with the cheap beer prices, you can definitely afford to party all night.

#21 Rome

When it comes to Rome, the nightlife is definitely a case of quality over quantity. Although their musical tastes can be considered a bit contemporary, Rome is still an amazing place to party. And hell, I’m pretty sure the Romans invented the party, so you are bound to have an incredible time.

#22 Saint Tropez

Although Saint Tropez is where the rich and the famous go to unwind, they party scene here is legendary. It costs a bit to not only get here, but also to party here, so make sure you have plenty of drinking money.

Asia:

#23 Bangkok

Koh Phangan is the home of the legendary Full Moon Party. This original crazy hippie love fest has now morphed into one of the biggest outdoor festivals in the world. Thailand is the place to party, and Ko Pha-Ngan is the place to do it.

In Osaka you not only work hard, but you also play hard. Well, the locals do at least, that is to say, work hard. Those looking for a great place to party in Japan better head on over to Osaka, where locals and expats alike knock back some sake in one of the many pubs and clubs that stay open until the wee hours of the morning.

Tel Aviv is not what you would expect when you travel to Isreal. This place knows how to party, and the party doesn’t stop until the break of dawn. With a mix of electronic, funk and everything in-between, Tel Aviv’s nightclubs are a great place to get your dance on.

Tokyo is one place that knows how to keep you partying until the early morning. Not that you would need the excuse, but the train stops at midnight, so you have no choice but to keep the party going in one of its many nightclubs, bars and pubs.
