5 Types of guys you’ll see picking up women at a bar

Guys love bars for one reason: women. Well, the hi-def TVs that are permanently tuned to sports channels are also nice. Also, there’s nothing like devouring grease-laden bar food after a few ice cold drafts…okay, okay, guys like bars for many reasons. Women, however, are a top priority. In any bar you will invariably see five types of guys on the prowl for female, ahem, “companionship.”

1. The Alpha Male

The Alpha Male is the most notorious of all guy types. He has studied books that promise to reveal the secrets of picking up women. He can be identified by his confident swagger and superior attitude. He can also be spotted when, inevitably, a woman turns him down. He will show an expression of puzzlement as he realizes that all of those books and websites were a scam designed to suck up his paycheck.

2. The Bro

These guys spend countless hours applying hair gel and the cloud of cologne that hangs around them, if ignited, could level a city block. Bros are most often found in noisy bars. The loud noise will prevent a woman from realizing that she is talking to a man who spends more time primping in front of the mirror than she does.

3. The Pseudo-Intellectual Hipster

The Hipster is more common now than ever before. They constantly smoke hand-rolled cigarettes, wear glasses without lenses and sport mustaches that haven’t been in style since the Civil War. They aren’t likely to pick up any women because they refuse to drink anything other than cheap beer. Women are not impressed when a Hipster offers to buy them watered-down swill.

4. The Big Shot

This guy has it all. He shows up in a sports car and flashes cash. He will be quite successful with the ladies. He will buy them expensive cocktails and offer them a ride in his flashy car. However, as soon as he brings a lady home, she will quickly discover that he’s got the money, but all of it is spent to compensate for other, ahem, shortcomings.

5. The First Timer

You’ve got to give this guy some credit. He is trying, after all. When he approaches a woman, one of two outcomes are possible. She will either quickly brush him off or be charmed by his effort. Upon his first romantic success, his shyness will disappear and he will rapidly transform into one of the above categories. It’s a vicious cycle.

So, there you have it. The next time you’re at a bar, keep an eye out for these fellows. Odds are that you can size them up quickly. What you do with this information is, of course, up to you.

1. Koh Phangan, Thailand

People say that strange and exciting things happen on nights where there is a full moon; well this is certainly true of the monthly full moon parties in Koh Phangan, Thailand. Each month on the night of the first full moon, thousands of people from all over the globe descend on Koh Phangan to experience the wildest and most lively party under the sun…or, moon.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

If you’re looking for a new years party where you can get extremely wet and extremely wild, then look no further than Chiang Mai, Thailand. The New Years celebrations here consist of one huge water party throughout the country. Chiang Mai is the destination for anyone interested in being targeted by explosive water balloons, drenched at random by strangers wielding water buckets, hosed down like you were a person on fire, or simply splashed repeatedly by puddle jumpers in the streets. Whatever you choose, you can count on getting wet and having one of the best New Years experiences of your life.

3. Vang Vieng, Laos

Do not let the size of this small little town in Laos fool you – people here know how to have a good time. Tubing and rafting are favorite party activities in Vang Vieng as many locals and tourists like to cruise down the rivers with a beer (or two or three) in hand. After enjoying a relaxing coast on the water, you can stop off at one of the many bars and local watering holes that serve up a variety of specialty drinks unique to Laos culture (Lao Whiskey is great); or, for the less adventurous types, you can simply opt for a standard rum and coke – but at least make it a double. Either way, there are plenty of friendly, sociable people looking to mingle and have a great time in Vang Vieng.

4. Phuket, Thailand (Patong Beach)

Patong Beach is known for its incredible nightlife and revelry. With hundreds of bars and clubs to choose from, this beautiful party paradise is one of the hottest spots in South East Asia – a must see for anyone interested in turning it up a notch in Thailand.

5. Osaka, Japan

Well know for its bustling business and technology culture, Osaka has fallen under the radar as a main party destination in Asia. But don’t let the tailored suits and shiny shoes fool you, there is more to this city than business meetings and cell phones – Osaka is home to some of the best night life in all of Asia.

6. Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkokis widely known as one of the best places to party in Asia. 7. Seoul, South Korea

There is something for everyone in Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. The parties in this part of the world are well organized and heavily marketed around the city, making it easy for any local or tourist to end up in the right place at the right time.

9. Goa, India

Located on the west coast of India, Goa is by far
one of the best party places in Asia. With amazing festivals, hot clubs and
huge beach parties there is a little something for everyone. North Goa is the best place to
go bar hopping, but if you are looking for beach parties, head to south to Anjuna beach.
With a huge Christams and New Year’s Eve festivals, winter is one of the best times to
party in Goa.

10. Kuta, Bali

If you’re looking for a party in Bali, then Kuta is the place to go. This is a popular destination for world travelers looking to mingle with locals and meet other adventurers. It seems everyone in Kuta is interested in and capable of partying all the way through the night.

11. Tokyo, Japan

As expensive as it may be, Tokyo is still one of the best places to party in Asia. It’s the NYC of the Orient with absolutely no shortage of bars, clubs, dance halls, underground music scenes, restaurants, and all sorts of other types of entertainment. Tokyo is an electric whirlwind of adventure — the definition of a city that never sleeps.

12. Island of Kecil, Malaysia

Kecil is one of the best party islands in Asia. It’s a popular intersection for backpackers traveling from all over the world and makes for a great place to party once the sun goes down. The Complete Guide For Throwing A House Party On A Budget

There is nothing better than a good old-fashioned house party, both for the party atmosphere and for saving some money. You might think hosting a house party is as simple as inviting over a few friends and opening up a bag of chips, but to throw a good house party takes planning, organization and some skill.

In order to help you throw your very own house party, one that will be talked about for weeks, we have put together this simple guide, which will help you with everything from choosing a guest list to coming up with a few party games.

So without further adieu, here is the Complete Guide For Throwing A House Party On A Budget:

#1 – Choosing A Guest List

Before you even begin deciding on who you want to invite, you first need to think about the amount of people your budget can accommodate. The larger the guest list obviously means the more the expense, and usually the bigger the party.

Besides budget, you’ll want to ensure you have adequate space for the amount of people you are planning to invite. You will need enough room for everyone to fit, while still having space for people to break off into groups, and walk around to get food and drinks. And don’t forget about an area to dance!

A large house party would consist of more than 25 guests. With the large group you can afford to diversify your guests, inviting people from different aspects of your life. With a large group of people your hosting duties are usually minimal when it comes to getting conversation going. As mentioned, large parties can be quite expensive, so you can cut the costs by making it a BYOB.

A medium sized party will comfortably fit between 10 to 15 guests. With the smaller group you can afford to offer some drinks and a few finger foods without going over budget. If you get creative with the menu your guests will appreciate the effort.

A smaller house party would consist of fewer than 10 guests. These house parties are usually a little more intimate and work well where everyone knows each other. If you still want to invite guests from different groups in your life, choose wisely. Having people that do not feel comfortable mingling with strangers can make for an awkward party, one where you as the host will be doing a lot of the work keeping the conversation going. Small parties are also a great way to show off your culinary skills without breaking the bank.

#2 – Picking A Theme

Theme parties are a fun way to bring friends together and have a few drinks. The right theme can get everyone excited and allow your guests to really let go of any of their inhibitions – beer also helps too. However, picking the wrong theme can be a disaster. With the wrong theme you may find that your guests are not as enthusiast about the party as you are, and some may not participate or even show up.

Try running your theme idea by a few of your closest friends on your guest list to get a feel for how they are going to take it. Definitely pick something that does not require guests to go out and spend an inordinate amount of money looking for a costume, and certainly do not pick anything too obscure that those on your guest list will not be familiar with.

Once a theme has been decided you can use that to help you plan the other aspects of your party, from lighting and décor, to music and even the menu. The more creative you make it, the more memorable the party will be.

#3 – Creating The Proper Lighting

Even though the theme may dictate your lighting choice, creating ambiance in your house party is one of the most essential aspects, besides the booze of course, at making your guests feel welcome and at ease with their surroundings. Even without a theme, lighting will play an essential role in creating a party atmosphere.

The most inexpensive way to create some ambiance is by dimming the lights. If you don’t have a dimmer switch, you can try using tea lights, making sure of course they are located out of harms way – i.e. from being knocked over during the crazy arm-flailin’, booty bustin’ dance off.

#4 – Arranging The Music

Besides lighting, one of the other most important aspects of creating a memorable house party is music. Whether the music coincides with your theme or not, you should create a playlist, or ask one of your more capable guests to play DJ.

A good DJ always plays to the energy of the crowd, so knowing what your guest are into before hand will help you to create a playlist that will work well for your house party. Start with something light but upbeat to create the atmosphere, and work up to songs with more energy that will get the party jumpin’.

#5 – Planning A Menu

The size of your guest list will really determine your menu. As previously mentioned, the larger the party, the more the expense. So when it comes to planning a menu there are a few options to not blow your budget, as well as having to spend all day in the kitchen preparing.

With a large house party guests will not expect to be served food, but it is still a good idea to have a few munchies prepared. The classic chips n’ dip and other types of fingers foods, like fresh cut veggies, pitas and hummus, always go over well.

For the medium sized party you may want to throw in a few additional items, such as some canapés along with a cheese and fruit platter.

The smaller house party is where you can let your culinary skills shine. You don’t have to treat your guests to a full course dinner, but even making something as simple as handmade burgers for the BBQ will go a long way to impress your guests.

An additional way to save some money is to plan a potluck for the party, or even get everyone to chip in on some pizza, because remember, pizza and beer always goes hand-in-hand.

#6 – Coming Up With Party Games

If done incorrectly, a house party can be a dime a dozen. Anyone can simply invite over a few friends, turn on some music and have a few laughs while enjoying a favorite cocktail or three. But these ‘parties’ are really just boring old get-togethers. With your house party you want to do something memorable. Something creative. Something fun that will have your guests talking about it for weeks.

Your theme can go a long way to helping you create this memorable experience, but with or without a theme, it really comes down to the party games that will get your guest involved. Party games work for all sizes, from large parties to smaller intimate ones.

When designing activities remember to be creative, make them fun, and know when to initiate them. If the party is already in full party mode it might be best to shelf the game until the party dies down a bit.

With the right mix of guests, a fun and engaging theme, lighting to set the ambiance, a playlist to get the party moving, some food, and a few party games, you can easily create a memorable house party, while still staying on budget.

The Great Nightlife (and life) in Bath

Bath is a spectacularly beautiful city which stands on the River Avon among the hills of England’s West Country. The city’s compactness and striking architecture – Roman baths and sweeping Georgian terraces – combine to produce one of the most elegant sights in Europe.

The ancient Celts, who first inhabited this area, believed that Bath’s hot springs were sacred, but it was the Romans who built the temple and the famous baths – now restored to their original grandeur.

If all Bath had to offer was some incredible nightlife, a vibrant student scene, hundreds of very talented local DJs and a modest but wonderfully varied selection of pubs, clubs and bars then it would be a pretty cool place to live – dry during the day, sure, but alive at night.

Sadly, that’s not the case.
Bath is pretty magical in the daytime too.
Take a wonder up Milson Street under the Christmas lights, crash out at Royal Crescent on one of those belting hot summer’s days or just while the hours away with a coffee sitting by the river – Bath, on the face of it, has got ‘it’.

Go out and discover that amazing night out, that band you can’t get enough of, that little bar where they had to kick you out to clean up, that cafe you never dreamed would exist down that little side street.

Bath is a phenomenal place to take up that sport you’ve always thought would be kind of fun but you’ve never tried, the place to get that Saturday job you’ve fancied for a little while; it’s the place to discover yourself academically and personally.

Bath really does just keep on giving. You’ll love your first year, everyone does, but you’ll love your second year even more and after that, well, you’ve still not seen it all. Bath could be that great place to study or a place to discover, learn and find out exactly what you’re about; the place where you had so many amazing times and met so many amazing people.

Bath could be your home from home or…just become home.
Whatever ‘it’ is, make sure you enjoy it…

Pubs and Bars:

Back To Mine

The one complaint of Back to Mine is that its front door does it little justice. Inside has to be seen to be believed! Normally a funkier, more soulful venue than Bath’s other clubs, Back to Mine is free from Monday to Thursday and, if you get hooked, its well worth becoming a member on the Facebook page – the discounts are good value.

Lamb and Lion

Allegedly the Lamb and Lion is the place to find Bath’s cheapest pint. All the features you would want from your local; pool tables, beer garden, TV screens and a decent selection of beers, wines and cocktail pitchers. It’s an ideal place to start the night

Parade Bar

The Parade Bar is a party bar, populated year round with students. Food is served all day, there’s a variety of cheap snacks and meals and best of all cheap drinks. Right on the Bath University campus, it’s merely a stagger back to your accommodation. Open until 2am on Friday’s – it’s a night out not to be missed!

The Boater

The Boater is as good for a Sunday afternoon Guinness curled up in front of the footy as it is for a long summers evening overlooking the weir in the beer garden. It’s always lively, particularly on rugby days but is always a good place to catch the big match.

Moles

Name any half decent band from the last twenty years and they have probably played Moles.
It really is the place to go for indie-rock and upcoming bands with live acts several times a week. When there’s no music Moles is a favourite with clubbers, the obligatory ‘Cheesy Tuesdays’ is a big hit, as are The Snugs who play reggae, funk and soul on a Friday night.

Top 19 Party Cities In Canada

At the beginning of the year we provided you with not only the Top 18 Party Cities In Europe, but we also listed the Top 21 Party Cities In The USA.

Today we’re looking at the best party cities in the Canada. Since the drinking age for the majority of Canadian cities is 19 years of age, in the province of Quebec it is 18, we’ve decided to focus on the top 19 party cities.

#1 Montreal, Quebec

The number one party destination is, with out a doubt, Montreal. With the legal drinking age being only 18 and the bars and clubs serving until 3am, the party never stops in this beautiful city. On weekends there are also many after-hours clubs where the dancing lasts until dawn. Even the residents of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Canada head to Montreal to party.

#2 Toronto, Ontario

The largest city in Canada, Toronto, is also one of the best party cities the country has to offer. With its eclectic mix of cultures and neighbourhoods, Toronto also has a vast array of party places. From an immense and thriving live music scene to electronic clubs that go to the early hours of the morning, Toronto is one city where you wont have to search too hard, or too long, for a party.

#3 Vancouver, British Columbia

Although the Vancouver lifestyle is suited to the more casual establishments, bars and pubs, there is still a pretty good club scene here. But even in the bars and pubs, there is always a party. Some of the best areas to party in Vancouver are Yaletown, Gastown and of course, Granville Street and Downtown.

#4 Halifax, Nova Scotia

In Halifax the festival season never seems to end, and with their influx of live music, and plenty of bars and nightclubs to choose from, this small maritime town is one of the best party cities in Canada.

#5 Ottawa, Ontario

The capital city of Canada may be smaller than the other major cities on this list, but this town knows how to party just as hard. From live music to electronic dance clubs that are open until the wee hours of the morning, Ottawa has some of the best partying spots, all within a few blocks of each other. It is an easy city to get around at night and the close proximity to practically everything makes bar hopping a breeze. Best of all, when the bars close at 2am in Ottawa the party doesn’t have to end. Just a short jaunt across the river is Quebec, where the bars are open until 3am.

#6 Québec City, Quebec

The jewel of Quebec is without a doubt its capital city, Quebec City, or Quebec as the locals refer to it. Over looking the St. Lawrence River, this Old World European styled city is much more than meets the eye. It is also an incredible party town. For the best nightlife head on over to Grande-Allée Street or Boulevard Laurier.

#7 Sudbury, Ontario

Known for its nickel, both the mining operations and the giant nickel that adorns the city, this small Ontario town is an oasis of hipster hangouts, trendy dive bars and all night dance clubs. So whether it is a stop-over for a longer drive to one of our other party cities, or a destination in itself, Sudbury has earned its place in the top 19 party cities in Canada.

#8 Charlottetown, PEI

From brewpubs, like The Gahan House Brewery, Pub & Mercantile, to nightclubs, dive bars and lounges, such as Baba’s Lounge; this quaint little capital city is much more than meets the eye. Think small town appeal meets big town party.

The famed capital city of British Columbia is hidden away on the province’s island gem, Vancouver Island. With friendly and welcoming locals, the party is anywhere you end up. And with over 16,000 University of Victoria students, that can be practically anywhere, from the bar, to the club and even a beach party.

#10 Calgary, Alberta

Known as ‘Cowtown’, this Albertan city is much more than cowboy boots and country music. One of the fastest growing cities in Canada, Calgary has a thriving nightlife to match. From comfy pubs to all night dance clubs, and everything in between, partying in Calgary is “the most fun you can have with your boots on”.

#11 Edmonton, Alberta

Know for their giant mall, Edmonton is much more than Alberta’s shopping mecca. This place knows not only how to party, but how to attract the country’s most beautiful women with the annual indie arts and cultural festival, the Fringe festival, held each year in August.

#12 Winnipeg, Manitoba

Winnipeg is one Canadian city that many do not assume to be a party town, and those people have most likely never been. With it’s thriving music scene, and such events as the Winnipeg Folk Festival, this city, nestled in the heart of the prairies, is not only a great place to stop on your way West or East, but it is also a party destination in itself.

#13 St John’s, Newfoundland

With its steep roads adorned with multi coloured homes that end in a harbour, St. John’s has been described as a miniature San Francisco. This capital city may have the look of an American metropolis, but it definitely doesn’t have the attitude. Newfoundlanders are a welcoming bunch that love to party. So whether you are throwing back a few pints at one of the many George Street pubs, or have been invited to a kitchen party, this maritime city is one hell of a place to party.

#14 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Saskatoon, known to some as the Paris of the Prairies, is a party destination in itself. With a growing live music scene and lively downtown area that is populated much of the year with students from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon knows how to throw a party.

#15 Fredericton, New Brunswick

This capital city may look like a quaint sleepy little village by day, with its well-maintained flowerbeds and Georgian and Victorian homes, but come nightfall, when the bars and clubs open their doors, it is another story altogether. With over 50 bars, lounges, and nightclubs, and new ones opening all the time, you won’t have any trouble finding a place to party.

#16 Regina, Saskatchewan

It should be no surprise that the city that rhymes with fun knows how to party. Whether it is clubbing in the iconic Old Warehouse district or throwing back a few craft beers at some of the original brewpubs, Regina is more than just a stop-over city. It’s a party town worthy of a destination.

#17 Hamilton, Ontario

Some may refer to Hamilton as, the armpit of Canada for it’s unappealing smell – if you have ever been, you know what I mean – but this hard-working steel town still knows how to party. With students from McMaster University and Mohawk College partying it up each and every night, there is a little something for everyone, from the club district to Hess Village you are bound to find your party destination.

#18 Kingston, Ontario

Although Kingston may be a rest stop for those travelling between Toronto and Montreal, and vice versa, those who do not stay for the party are definitely missing out. During the school year Kingston is jammed packed with university students attending Queen’s University, who set out each weekend to party it up in the many bars, pubs and clubs sprinkled throughout the city. In the summer, one of the best music festivals in Canada, the Wolfe Island Music Festival, which sadly did not make our Top 12 ‘Must Attend’ Music Festivals Of 2012, is just a short ferry ride away.

#19 Niagara Falls, Ontario

Home to one of the natural wonder of the world, Niagara Falls is more than just a tourist destination, it’s also a party spot. Featuring everything from dive bars to strip clubs and everything in between, Niagara Falls is a miniature Vegas. After a night of partying, head on over to one of its two casinos that are open 24/7/365, and try to win back some of your drinking money.

The Miser’s Guide To Clubbing

After reviewing countless bars and clubs all over the world, we know how easily going out for just one beer can quickly turn into a $200 bar tab.

Hitting up the clubs can be particularly expensive when you factor in cover charge, coat check and the inflated cost of drinks. Thankfully we’ve learned a thing or two on how to save a few bucks when at the clubs. Some tips may obvious, some unorthodox, but they all work.

So without further adieu, here is the Miser’s Guide To Clubbing:

#1 – Pre-Party

Pre-partying is essential for any night out at the clubs. Walking in stone cold sober is one way to ensure your budget gets blown within the hour. So invite over some friends, have a few drinks and get ready for the night. If you are going out solo, and are the type that doesn’t like to drink alone, never underestimate the power of a shower beer. They’re so good you might even want to bring two.

#2 – The Early Bird Gets The Worm

One way to save a little money, and ensure that you will get into the club, is to arrive early. Sure, this might mean that you have to start your pre-game drinking a bit earlier, but since most clubs don’t get started until after 11pm you’ll have plenty of time. Be one of the first to arrive and you will likely get in without having to pay cover.

#3 – Never Pay (Full) Cover

One of the biggest burns to your budget is the cover charge. Going early might be able to save you cover entirely, but if you don’t want to be that guy, you might consider travelling in a pack. Many clubs will offer a discounted rate if you bring your whole entourage with you. It’s always best to call ahead to negotiate the price before you get there. The more women you have in your group, the more likely you will be able to get in.

#4 – Leave The Coat At Home

Most clubs have a mandatory coat check, and depending on the time of the year, a coat may be essential to your survival. If you can, leave the coat at home, or in the car of a designated driver. Failing that, try to double your coats up on one hanger and save a bit of money. For the ladies, a big purse and a thin jacket will work wonders.

#5 – Where Everyone Knows Your Name

One of the best ways to save money is to become a regular. Get to know the staff and the owner. Becoming a friend will help you to get in on the busy nights, usually without having to pay cover. The wait staff and bartenders may even buy you drinks, or at the very least, have a heavy hand when they are pouring them.

#6 – Cash Only

If you really want to save some money you should only bring cash and your ID, leave all plastic at home. Never, I men never, use the ATM machine inside the club. In some instances you can end up paying up to $10 in ATM fees each time you make a transaction. And when you are buzzed, taking out extra money may seem like a good idea at the time, usually more than once in the night. It’s also best to stick to the budget you set for yourself and try not to borrow cash from that friend who always seems to have a little too much cash on hand.

#7 – Special Of The Day

Do a little research and find out which clubs have specials, whether they are Ladies Nights, happy hours, two-for-one drinks or just specials on specific brands. Drink on the cheap and you can drink longer for less. And if you are a guy on Ladies Night you can always ask the ladies to buy you a few rounds.

#8 – Price Is The Difference

The fastest way to blow through your cash budget is to order drinks without knowing the prices. It’s not uncouth to ask for a price menu before deciding on what you want to drink. Knowing where your money can be best spent to maximize your alcohol intake will help you to stretch out the night further.

#9 – Keep It Simple

Now that you’ve seen the price list you’ll quickly understand that the simpler the drink usually means the cheaper the price. Unless there is a special on certain drinks or alcohol, domestic beer is typically the cheapest way to go, and draft even more so. If you are not a beer drinker, always order from the rail when ordering spirits.

#10 – It’s A Marathon, Not A Sprint

Even if it is a two-for-one special you should always pace your drinking. These specials work in benefit of the club, the more you drink the faster you will forget about your budget and the more money you will spend. Remember, you have the whole night, so pace yourself and interject a bottle of water between every other drink. Not only will you save money, but also your body will thank you for it in the morning.

#11 – A Shot In The Dark

If you really want to blow through your money then order shots. Heck, buy a round of shots for everyone at the bar with you. But if you really want to save your money, then just stick with beer or whatever cocktails that are on special.

#12 – Be One Of The 10-15%

This may be counterintuitive if you are trying to make friends with the wait staff, but one of the easiest ways to save money at the club is to not tip, or at least not over tip. If you can, try to start a tab. If they won’t let you start a tab without a credit card then be careful with your tips. Tipping $1.00 with every beer purchase can quickly add up. If your beer is $4.00 that is a 25% tip, generous, but not needed. A tab will enable you to leave a tip of 10-15% on your total bill, but if you are unable to open a tab try calculating the amount of money you will spend in the night and leave the full tip at the beginning. Not only will that help you to curb your tips, but the move may also impress the bartender enough that you won’t have to wait for a drink the rest of the night.

#13 – Disappearing Act

When out with a group of friends one of the hardest things to do is leave early. No one wants the party to stop and you’ll usually be browbeaten into staying to have just one more. This quickly turns into another round, and before you know it you’ve closed the bar once again. In order to avoid this extended bar tour and save some money learn how to pull a Houdini. Simply disappear, apologize for it in the morning or send a text message while you are in the cab on the way home. Going home early is not a sign of weakness, your body, and your wallet, will thank you for it in the morning.

Additional Tips

For the guys: Try not to buy drinks for the girls, and definitely stay away from those girls who will only use you for drinks.
For the girls: Use men for drinks.

Top 10 College Party Towns In The USA

We have already discussed the Top 10 Spring Break Destinations as well as the 32 Best Party Cities in The World, today we will let you know where the best college party towns are located.

So without further adieu, here are the Top 10 College Party Towns In The USA:

#1 – Tempe, Arizona – Arizona State University

With a population of over 161,000, Tempe, Arizona is also home to over 68,000 Arizona State University students, and the number keeps growing. The university bar district is located on Mill Avenue, with some famous, long-standing, establishments such as the Cue Club and Rula Bula Irish Pub being found there.

#2 – Madison, Wisconsin – University of Wisconsin

Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin, has a population of over 233,000 people. Home to the university of Wisconsin, the university party district can be found on State Street. Madison is also home to many events, including the Waterfront Festival and the famous Mifflin Street Block Party.

#3 – Iowa City, Iowa – University of Iowa

With a population just below 68,000, Iowa City is the home to the University of Iowa. Located right in the downtown proper the University is surrounded by nothing but bars and clubs, 52 within a one-mile radius. Iowa City is also home to a nationally renowned jazz festival, which occurs every summer.

#4 – Austin, Texas – University of Texas

With a population of close to 800,000, Austin, Texas is the home to the University of Texas. If you are looking to party in Austin, look no further than Sixth Street. #5 – Gainesville, Florida – University of Florida

Even though Gainesville has a population of just fewer than 125,000, it is home to the United States sixth largest university campus, the University of Florida. Some of the best places to party include the Back Stage Lounge, the Salty Dog Saloon, and of course, the University Club. Go Gators!

#6 – University Park, Pennsylvania – Penn State University

#8 – Knoxville, Tennessee – The University of Tennessee

With a population just under 180,000, Knoxville is the home of the University of Tennessee. It’s a great college party town, but it really heats up during football season when the tailgate parties are practically everywhere.

#9 – Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State University

The capital of Ohio, Columbus has a population of just under 780,000. Home to such festivals as the Jazz and Ribs Festival and ComFest, this Ohio State University town really knows how to party. Some of the top party venues to check-out include, Village Idiot, Axis Nightclub, Ruby Tuesday and the Varsity Club.

#10 – Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Louisiana State University

Baton Rouge is the capital city of Louisiana. With a population of fewer than 230,000, this city is the home to Louisiana State University and the LSU Tigers. The biggest event that takes place in Baton Rouge is a little party called Mardi Gras. However, seeing that there are over 32,000 students enrolled in LSU each year, the party pretty much never stops.

What A Girl’s Makeup Says About How To Approach Her In A Bar

If you are not heading out to a sports bar with the boys, or knocking back a few pints at the end of a hard week’s work with your co-workers, then this weekend it is definitely time to hit up the clubs. The weather is nice, and with the warmer temperatures the ladies will be ready to strut their stuff.

When it comes to hitting on the ladies at the clubs, there are many how to’s available all over the internet, from one-liners to pick-up lines, with some offering good advice and others, well, terrible advice.

In reality, a girl tries to make it easy of us guys to let us know how to, or even if we should, approach her at a club. From the clothes she wears, to her hairstyle, and even her make-up, girls are always giving us guy’s subtle little clues if they are interested in us or not.

Check out these five common make-up styles and how they relate to they way you should approach her at a bar or club:

#1 – Smoky Eyes

She wants to look smouldry and sexy at the same time, and the smoky eyes style does the trick. So what does this heavy use of mascara mean for you? Approach With Caution. The smoky eyes could be out just to show how hot they think they look, and really only be in the mood to see how many guys they can turn down. Only approach if you get the invitation first, all it takes is some eye contact and a smile, unless of course you are feeling adventurous and are packing an iron-clad ego that you don’t mind getting dented.

#2 – Fresh-Faced Look

With the girl-next-door look you are likely in for a girl who is not only very sweet and kind, but also someone smart that appreciates intellectual conversation. The ole one-liners won’t work here, even if said ironically. Although she’ll understand the irony, it probably won’t impress her. You’ll have to bump up your game here and prepare to dazzle her with your knowledge of current events.

#3 – The Barbie

With her hot pink lips, the Barbie is out to have a good time tonight. You’ll either find her getting down on the dance floor or hear her laughing at the bar. Only approach this girl if you know how to have fun. Keep the conversation light and silly and if you can make her laugh you should have no problems at all.

#4 – O’Natural

The o’natural style is a girl who is not only confident but also down to earth. Whether she is wearing very little or no make-up at all, this girl knows she is attractive, and really, that it was just simple luck of genetics. Although everyone loves to be complemented, hearing how beautiful she is from strangers really isn’t going to impress her, especially since you are not the first and definitely will not be the last. As with the Smoky Eye, wait for the invitation before you approach. The best approach would probably be an indirect one, for example, asking her opinion about something.

#5 – The Seductress

Although it may be hard to differentiate between hot pink lips and bright red ones on the dance floor, the Seductress is definitely not the same as the Barbie. Sure, they are both out looking for fun, but the Seductress knows exactly what she is looking for, and is not afraid to get it. Since she will be flirtatious, and likely have her eye on someone already, this approach may be a little difficult. If her eyes are somewhere else and she continues to give monosyllabic answers it’s best to move on. If she’s into you, you’ll know it.
